At NRF 2026, Proto demonstrated what happens when AI moves beyond the screen and into physical space. In collaboration with Cisco and running on their Unified Edge System, a holographic AI avatar appeared as a life-size, real-time presence capable of natural interaction in high-traffic environments and in any language. AI is no longer confined to a display — it is now incorporated into where buying decisions are made. For retail, hospitality, and large venues, this marks a transition from passive digital interfaces to embodied intelligence that engages, assists, and reduces friction in the real world – and it is partnerships like this that make it even more powerful.

Welcoming the World to the Super Bowl – Holographically

Ahead of Super Bowl LX, Proto transformed San Francisco International Airport into a stage for innovation. Life-size holograms of Mayor Daniel Lurie and NFL legends Steve Young and Jerry Rice greeted travelers in Terminal 3, creating an unexpected arrival experience that blended civic pride, sports, and technology. Launched in partnership between SFO, the Bay Area Host Committee, and Gen City Labs for Super Bowl week, the installation is long term – establishing SFO as an ongoing showcase for immersive storytelling at scale.

Merck Puts Holographic Presence on the Main Stage

At a global leadership event, Merck demonstrated how a multi-billion-dollar enterprise can rethink executive presence. Pam Wong, a leader in responsible AI at Merck, beamed live from Hong Kong as a full-scale hologram, interviewed in real-time at Merck’s New Jersey Headquarter by CEO Rob Davis. Two locations became one seamless conversation. After the initial moment of surprise, the technology disappeared and the dialogue took over – a clear signal that holographic presence is no longer a novelty, but a viable communications platform for the world’s largest companies. The event previewed Merck’s use of Proto for public interactive disease awareness experiences, starting in Vietnam. Proto is increasingly being trusted not just for spectacle, but for substance at the highest levels of enterprise.

Expanding the Playing Field at the PGA Show with Proto

At the 2026 PGA Show, PXG (Parsons Xtreme Golf) used Proto to turn its booth into a live brand environment. Founder Bob Parsons beamed in from Hawaii for a real-time Q&A, appearing life-size on the show floor and engaging directly with attendees. And in 2025, our customers showed what happens when organizations stop experimenting with spatial computing and start building with it. Across AI-driven intelligence, enterprise adoption, creative exploration, and the world’s first holographic campaigns, teams around the globe integrated Proto into how they communicate, market, train, and convert.

As spatial computing enters the mainstream in 2026, we’re proud to spotlight the innovators who were already there – turning a powerful medium into real impact. These are the partners proving that holograms aren’t the future. They’re already at work.

Giving Intelligence a Presence: Conversational AI Comes to Life

In 2025, Proto helped bring AI to life in physical spaces. By creating conversational AI personas of influential leaders like Reid Hoffman and Michael Milken, intelligence moved off the screen and into the room, creating both personal but also communal dialogue. These personas, unlike conversing with a chatbot, don’t just answer questions – they hold natural conversations, drawing from deep knowledge bases with context, empathy, and presence.

When experienced in person, the reaction is immediate awe. Reid Hoffman’s AI now appears at events across the country, while Michael Milken’s AI has a permanent home at the Milken Center for Advancing the American Dream in Washington D.C., (alongside Proto avatars of Serena Williams, Sanjay Gupta, and Spanx Founder Sara Blakely). At the same time, enterprises including AWS, HPE, Accenture, and PwC are building conversational AI personas on Proto to activate their knowledge – internally at Innovation and Executive Briefing Centers, and externally with customers. This is a new standard for AI: knowledge embodied, accessible, and human.

In 2025, Proto’s enterprise momentum accelerated. Today, more than 300 large organizations trust Proto, including 30 Fortune 500 companies – many of whom have been building with us since the earliest days of live holographic beaming. Proto devices are used globally in executive briefing centers to beam leaders into meetings as if they’re in the room, and across scalable internal initiatives that hint at what’s next for workforce enablement. Designing the Future: Creative Partners Expanding What’s Possible

Proto is a powerful medium, but it is our creative partners who make it unforgettable. At the forefront is Hologram Media Network (HMN), who deployed 50 Proto units across 50 malls nationwide in 2025 to build the first large-scale holographic advertising network. Working together with immersive digital agency Pretty Big Monster, HMN brought campaigns to life for Journeys, Converse, Bath & Body Works, and major entertainment releases like Warner Bros.’ The Conjuring: Last Rites and Netflix’s In Your Dreams. The impact is measurable: HMN drives 32%+ average dwell time, quite literally stopping people in their tracks.

Meanwhile, creative partners like Joe Zeff Design and The Famous Group continue to push the platform forward by asking an ambitious question: How far can this experience go? Their work expands what’s possible on Proto every day – proving that the future of spatial computing is driven as much by creativity as it is by technology.

Breaking New Ground: Holographic Firsts Across Industries

In 2025, Proto helped brands and leaders create holographic firsts that redefined how people engage in physical spaces. Lionsgate launched the first-ever holographic movie premiere campaign for Now You See Me, Now You Don’t, deploying Proto devices in 15 theaters with a custom Proto Selfie experience that let fans take and share hologram selfies with the film’s stars – turning movie marketing into a unique fan engagement and bringing audiences back to theaters. In beauty, Tarte Cosmetics pioneered holographic influencer invites, with founder Maureen Kelly beaming into influencers’ homes to personally invite them on brand trips – experienced as if she were in the room and setting a new trend in experiential marketing.

Beyond marketing, Proto enabled a different kind of first when Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen became the first U.S. governor to beam via Proto Hologram, delivering a live presentation to a University of Nebraska Medical Center satellite campus – showing how holograms can extend leadership, education, and real-world impact.

Going Global: Partners Bringing Spatial Computing to the World

Proto’s growth in 2025 was powered by global partners bringing spatial computing to new markets and use cases around the world. In the U.S. and internationally, Boston-based Geminai continues to introduce Proto wherever it can make an impact – from a pilot program bringing remote, multilingual healthcare applications to fight the breast cancer crisis in Ghana (which was featured on BBC), to building new forms of creative storytelling with organizations and brands around New England. Their work shows how holographic technology can serve industries far beyond traditional use cases.

Tarte Cosmetics made headlines this month by launching the beauty industry’s first-ever hologram-led creator trip invitation – featuring a life-size appearance by Founder & CEO Maureen Kelly. In partnership with Proto, Tarte brought personalized, at-home invitations to influencers, redefining how brands show up for their communities. Tarte influencers have a combined reach of over 100 million followers across platforms and all shared the hologram experience across their channels. The activation blends tech, storytelling, and founder access in a way that feels intimate, unexpected, and unforgettable.

As the brand that pioneered influencer trips, Tarte is once again setting the standard – this time with holograms.

Journeys Launches First National Hologram Campaign in Footwear with HMN & Proto

Journeys just debuted the first-ever national hologram campaign in footwear retail, using nearly 50 Proto Luma units across the Hologram Media Network to spotlight creator Devvyyy in an eye-catching holographic styling experience deployed in malls nationwide. Produced in partnership with Pretty Big Monster, the campaign blurs the line between content and connection – delivering influencer-led experiences that feel spatial, immersive, and impossible to ignore. With higher dwell times and millions of real-world impressions, this campaign opens the door to a brand-new channel for creators, brands, and physical-world experiences.

Proto + AWS Make Communication More Accessible

At AWS re:Invent 2025, Proto partnered with developers using Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Nova, and other AWS tools to create next-gen experiences – like an AI-powered sign language hologram. The interactive 3D avatar responded to voice questions in real time using American Sign Language, showing how Proto and AWS are using spatial computing and AI/ML to make communication more human – and more inclusive. Proto Founder and Chairman David Nussbaum joined CNBC’s Morgan Brennan on stage at the CEO Council Forum to share how our tech is transforming industries – from sports and entertainment to healthcare and retail. The conversation spotlighted Proto’s AI avatars and real-time holoportation, which allow experts, creators, and leaders to “beam in” from anywhere – and continue the experience even after they leave, thanks to AI. First University System to Network Proto Tech Statewide (and first U.S. Governor to beam!)

This quarter, the University of Nebraska Medical Center unveiled its network of Proto units across campuses spread wide.

For conferences and classes, the department is beaming professors and patients to multiple locations live – and Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen became the first U.S. governor to beam via Proto during one event. In November, a live trauma training session was beamed from Omaha directly into hospitals in North Platte and Kearney – bringing a real instructor, in real-time, into the room as a hologram. For rural healthcare providers, access to high-acuity trauma training is rare. Proto is helping close that gap by making expert instruction available anywhere, instantly.

As Dr. Zach Bauman put it: “When you don’t see trauma often, it can be nerve-wracking when it happens. Our job is to change that.” And this change is starting with Proto.

Never tied to just one industry, Proto had a busy month – deploying units to theaters across the U.S. in partnership with Lionsgate, and teaming up with enterprise leaders like Accenture and Abbott at two of the year’s biggest conferences. The New England Patriots expanded their “We Are All Patriots Stage” with new holograms of team legends, while across the globe, our partners at Creative Mut welcomed UK comedian Romesh Ranganathan to their showroom, where he came face-to-face with an AI hologram of himself. Meanwhile, our Boston-based partner, Geminai, traveled to Ghana during Breast Cancer Awareness Month for the Walk for the Cure. Geminai demonstrated how Proto can deliver life-saving education, live consultations, and AI-powered guidance – proving its power to inform, connect, and transform on a global scale. Here’s a closer look at where Proto showed up, and what it helped make possible.

Premier Proto Partner, Geminai, Brings Holographic Breast Cancer Education to Ghana

Boston-based partner Geminai is using Proto’s holographic display and platform to support breast cancer education in Ghana, where late detection contributes to a 44% mortality rate. In partnership with Ghanaian surgeon Dr. Beatrice Wiafe Addai, Geminai created multilingual holograms focused on early detection, breast self-exams, and local health myths – recorded in both English and Twi. The team traveled to Ghana to gather survivor stories, pilot the tech in clinics, and explore how holograms can reach underserved communities. The success of the initiative led directly to additional projects across West Africa, and Geminai’s Joanne Stanway was interviewed by the BBC about the project’s impact. The mobility of the Proto M2 units also have the ability to support virtual consultations and interactive FAQ AI avatars, expanding access to care without requiring travel.

Proto & Lionsgate Team Up for Now You See Me: Now You Don’t Hologram Experience

Lionsgate partnered with Proto to deliver a first-of-its-kind hologram experience for Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, placing life-size holographic pop ups of Jesse Eisenberg, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, Justice Smith, and Ariana Greenblatt in 15 major U.S. theaters. In the widest public use of the Proto Selfie feature yet, fans get their selfie taken by the hologram of the star – then receive them instantly via QR code, turning moviegoing into an interactive, shareable moment. Featured in Forbes and Boxoffice Pro, the activation shows how Proto is redefining entertainment engagement at scale.

Proto & Accenture Redefine Enterprise AI at Dreamforce

At Dreamforce 2025, Proto was front and center at Accenture’s flagship booth, powering an interactive, AI-enabled hologram experience that demonstrated how enterprises can make artificial intelligence feel truly human.

In a showcase built around the Dandelion Chocolate Company, visitors were guided by Sami, a Conversational AI Persona displayed in a Proto Luma, and integrated with Accenture’s tech stack and Salesforce’s connected ecosystem. The agentic AI experience brought storytelling, personalization, and business use cases to life – making Proto an unforgettable centerpiece at one of the world’s largest enterprise tech events. Abbott Showcases the Future of Cardiovascular Care with Proto at TCT

At this year’s TCT conference in San Francisco, Abbott Vascular used Proto holograms to bring medical storytelling to life – projecting global experts and advanced cardiovascular technologies in real-time, life-size 3D. Developed in collaboration with HoloMedia, the immersive experience featured expert-led demos of Abbott’s endovascular and coronary innovations, transforming the booth into a high-impact learning environment. Proto’s ability to connect experts, content, and conversations across continents shows how immersive tech is reshaping healthcare communication and accelerating clinical impact.

New Holograms of Team Legends Debuted at the "We Are All Patriots Stage"

The New England Patriots announced several team legends that have become Proto Holograms on what it calls the “We Are All Patriots Stage.” Fans can now experience players and coaches like Julian Edelman, Vince Wilfork, Bill Parcells, Dante Scarnecchia, Devin McCourty, and Mike Vrabel talking about the team and its history. The team’s Hall of Fame is located adjacent to Gillette Stadium.

British Comedy Star Makes Proto AI Avatar Part of Sky TV Series

When Romesh Ranganathan came face to face with a life-sized hologram of himself at Proto’s showroom in South Korea, run with partner Creative Mut, the UK comedian was blown away – not just by the convincing holographic image, but by the way the avatar captured his sense of humor perfectly. “It’s amazing technology,” he says during the episode.

Holo-Ted: When History Meets Innovation

At the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural National Historic Site, Proto has brought the 26th President to life as a conversational AI avatar – “Holo-Ted.” Visitors can ask Roosevelt questions and receive real-time, contextual responses drawn from extensive historical literature and research. This activation demonstrates how institutions can make history interactive and alive. By combining AI knowledge models with Proto’s holographic presence, students and visitors can converse with history rather than just read about it – opening a new frontier for education, museums, and cultural storytelling.

Advancing the American Dream: Proto at the Milken Center

The newly opened Milken Center for Advancing the American Dream in Washington, D.C. is inspiring visitors with interactive stories of achievement – and Proto is proud to be part of it. Extending Stan Lee’s Legacy at LA Comic Con

At LA Comic Con, Proto brought the legendary Stan Lee to life as a conversational AI hologram, allowing fans to interact with him in real time. The hologram was crafted using footage from Lee’s countless appearances at fan conventions and on red carpets, capturing the humor and personality that made him beloved – even for fans who never met him in person, or only knew him from his iconic Marvel movie cameos.

Live from Nashville: Dierks Bentley Beams into Louisville Airport

Travelers arriving at Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF) are getting a first-of-its-kind welcome – a life-sized Proto Luma hologram of country music star Dierks Bentley. Appearing live from Nashville on launch day, Bentley chatted with fans, answered questions, and shared stories to celebrate the debut of his Row 94 Whiskey activation. The hologram now continues to greet visitors throughout October, creating a unique fusion of music, bourbon, and technology that turns the airport into an unforgettable destination.

Geminai x Proto at MIT’s AI-Powered Women Summit

Proto partner Geminai successfully facilitated a whirlwind demo experience at the AI-Powered Women Summit at MIT in Cambridge, MA this past weekend. The team set up a full studio onsite to capture holograms of women answering the question, “What about you cannot be replaced by AI?” to complement the theme of the Summit. The holograms were then displayed on the M2 unit that sat prominently in the AI Lab. There was a lot of excitement among the participants about the technology, with close to 100 holograms being created and serious inquiries about AI personas and industry use cases.

Proto at the Patriots Hall of Fame

Proto is now powering the We Are All Patriots Stage at the New England Patriots Hall of Fame, giving fans a front-row seat to history – holographically. With lifelike projections of legends like Devin McCourty, Coach Dante Scarnecchia, and Coach Mike Vrabel, visitors can come face-to-face with the greats. The experience updates monthly with new stories and heroes, turning every visit into a fresh connection with the Patriots legacy. Geminai Brings Historic and Educational Moments to Life with Proto in New England

One of Proto’s premiere partners, Geminai, located in Boston, MA, is redefining what it means to tell stories. Geminai has used Proto to create powerful experiences – from a holographic reenactment of the 250th Lexington anniversary, to real-time language translation for local Boy Scouts. They’ve also brought wildlife education to life with Nibi the Beaver, and are working to preserve family legacies by capturing grandparents reading bedtime stories as holograms for future generations.

Korean Retailer, Matin Kim, Captures Global Interest with Hologram Models

Korean fashion chain Matin Kim rolled out Proto Luma units at five of its top locations in April, loaded with hologram models. The use grabbed the attention of business media worldwide and was praised as a way for retailers to present clothing in engaging ways that give the consumer a better sense of fit and movement than static or flat screen displays can. Matin Kim will also be able to control the content in the units with Proto’s Fleet Management system, responding to trends across the chain, or even in individual stores, instantly. The installation and content were produced by Proto’s always-innovative premiere partners, Creative Mut.

At the 2025 Milken Institute Global Conference, Proto Hologram demonstrated that the future of presence is here – showcasing live beams from special guests, interactive holograms of event guests, and a fully conversational AI persona of Mike Milken himself. Attendees across industries experienced firsthand how Proto is reshaping communications, education, and engagement. Proto also offered an exclusive sneak peek into what is coming soon to the Milken Center for Advancing the American Dream [MCAAD] Museum, located across the street from the White House on Pennsylvania Avenue… an interactive, conversational AI persona of Khan Academy CEO, Sal Khan. Proto’s footprint in India is accelerating. First, with the expansion of the holographic AI persona of Amitabh Bachchan to now six IDFC FIRST banks and counting – assisting customers with their day to day inquiries in the most transformative, engaging way possible. Following IDFC’s success, the legendary cricket icon, Sourav Ganguly, joined Bachchan by becoming an AI hologram himself through Proto. Ganguly’s AI persona debuted at a stunning event at ITC Royal Bengal in April – and he was even present at the event to show the audience how real it looks. Proto Makes TIME100 Health List

The second annual list from TIME magazine included Proto Founder, David Nussbaum, in the “Innovators” section of the list, for Proto’s expanding use in healthcare. The citation, coming out in the May 26th edition of TIME, praises Proto beaming caregivers to rural clinics, the AI translation capabilities, and points out the new lowered cost of both the Proto Luma and the M2. Nussbaum joins household names such as RFK Jr., Bill Nye, Alice Walton, and the global director of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, on the list.

This month, Proto also received nominations for awards from Sports Business Journal (in the social media category for an activation with the Chicago Bulls) and in Silicon Valley’s Auggie Awards (in two categories, Best Use of AI & Best Health and Wellness Solution). Proto is also a Finalist in the Stadium Business Awards (in the Product Innovation category).
