Setup

1. 1 Place the stand on a flat surface.

2. 2 Hold the Proto M with both hands in front of and slightly above the stand.

3. 3 Slide the Proto M's round "puck" mounting bracket down into the stand's mounting slot. The Proto M will click into the stand.

   

4. 4 Insert and tighten the shoulder bolt.

   

1. 1 Place one hand on the bottom of the stand to hold it in place.

2. 2 With your other hand, squeeze the top handle on the back of the Proto M to release the locking pin.

3. 3 Rotate the Proto M until you hear a click sound. The Proto M will rotate clockwise from portrait to landscape or counterclockwise from landscape to portrait.

1. 1 Connect the power cable to the Proto M.

2. 2 Connect the power cable to an outlet.
   A surge protector is recommended to protect the Proto M from power surges. Do not use an extension cord.

   Make sure that people cannot step on the power cable or trip over the cable. Do not put objects on the cable.

   Only connect the Proto M to an easily accessible and grounded outlet with earth leakage protection using the provided cable. Do not force the power adapter into an outlet or plug multiple electric devices into the same power outlet. Overloading an outlet can cause it to overheat and may result in a fire.

3. 3 Press the Boot/Shut down button. The red P Boot/Shut down button is on the left side between the volume - and + buttons.
   The Boot/Shut down button does not stop power from flowing into your Proto M. To stop power from flowing to your Proto M, unplug it from the outlet.

When the Proto M is first turned on, an onscreen guide will walk you through connecting your Proto M to your Wi-Fi network. After your Proto M is connected, you can switch to another Wi-Fi network:

1. 1 Tap the Settings gear on the Home screen. A list of Wi-Fi networks will appear.

2. 2 Tap a Wi-Fi network.

3. 3 When prompted, enter the Wi-Fi password, if any. Your Proto M will connect to the selected network.

To forget a Wi-Fi network:

1. 1 Tap the Settings gear icon on the Home screen.

2. 2 Tap a Wi-Fi network.

3. 3 Tap Forget Network.

1. 1 Visit cloud.protohologram.com.

2. 2 Click Sign Up.

3. 3 Type your email address and name.

4. 4 Type and confirm your password.

5. 5 Agree to the terms of service.

6. 6 Click Sign Up.

   You will receive an email to verify your account.

1. 1 Turn on your Proto M.

2. 2 Scan the QR code with a mobile device.
   OR
   Visit cloud.protohologram.com/activate on a computer or mobile device.
   

3. 3 Type the activation code.
