Welcome to the latest edition of the Proto Hologram newsletter. This month, we’re exploring how Proto is bringing AI and remote human presence into physical spaces – whether it’s classrooms, courtrooms, or cultural institutions. From helping students connect with guest speakers in more dynamic ways, to enabling attorneys to appear remotely without losing the power of face-to-face communication, to letting fans engage with sports legends in new formats, Proto is redefining what it means to show up. In this issue, we cover our activation at the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles conference, Proto’s role at the New England Patriots Hall of Fame, a forward-thinking partnership with Geminai at MIT, and new ways we’re powering back-to-school learning experiences.
“It’s not a video – there’s a person in there. It’s pretty amazing”
– Coach Dante Scarnecchia, at New England Patriots Hall of Fame
Back to School, Forward with Holograms
As classrooms reopen across the country, the future of learning isn’t just digital – it’s dimensional. Proto’s holographic technology is already in use across a growing number of K–12 schools and universities, bringing in guest speakers, connecting campuses, and creating immersive, face-to-face learning experiences that feel anything but remote. Students don’t just watch – they engage with lifelike holograms that feel present, interactive, and unforgettable. With AI integrations, Proto opens the door to smart, adaptive learning environments – where holographic educators can respond in real time, evolve with the curriculum, and meet learners where they are. It’s not a replacement for traditional learning – it’s a leap forward.
Geminai x Proto at MIT’s AI-Powered Women Summit
Proto partner Geminai successfully facilitated a whirlwind demo experience at the AI-Powered Women Summit at MIT in Cambridge, MA this past weekend. The team set up a full studio onsite to capture holograms of women answering the question, “What about you cannot be replaced by AI?” to complement the theme of the Summit. The holograms were then displayed on the M2 unit that sat prominently in the AI Lab. There was a lot of excitement among the participants about the technology, with close to 100 holograms being created and serious inquiries about AI personas and industry use cases. |
Proto at the Patriots Hall of Fame
Proto is now powering the We Are All Patriots Stage at the New England Patriots Hall of Fame, giving fans a front-row seat to history – holographically. With lifelike projections of legends like Devin McCourty, Coach Dante Scarnecchia, and Coach Mike Vrabel, visitors can come face-to-face with the greats. The experience updates monthly with new stories and heroes, turning every visit into a fresh connection with the Patriots legacy. It’s where history meets holograms – and where fans meet their idols.
Proto Enables Presence at CAALA 2025
At the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA) annual conference, Proto enabled Robert Simon, of The Simon Law Group, to participate remotely – holographically. Using our technology, he was able to engage with attendees as if physically present, reinforcing how legal professionals can stay connected and credible even from afar. While the conversation focused heavily on the growing role of AI in law, Proto demonstrated how real-time presence remains essential in an increasingly digital practice. The College of William & Mary has used Proto to beam witnesses into the courtroom, and with AI integrations on the horizon, the platform continues to evolve as a vital tool for lawyers navigating the future of litigation.
Proto Creates an Emotional Moment in MrBeast's Weight Loss Challenge
At the end of MrBeast’s six-month weight loss challenge, Proto Hologram delivered a tear-jerker. The contestant’s past self, recorded at the beginning, appeared as a life-size hologram and spoke directly to his present-day counterpart, offering heartfelt encouragement. The interaction was candid, real, and deeply moving – more than tech magic, it was a moment of powerful human connection. As Proto’s second collaboration with MrBeast, this moment proves holograms can be emotionally transformative, not just visually stunning.
