Julia Chatterly interviewed David Nussbaum live for the morning First Move show about Proto’s use in education, healthcare, business and its new AI Tools. “So its exactly as if you’re there,” she said.

Hallmark+’s unscripted series “Celebrations with Lacey Chabert” will include the Proto hologram technology in its Oct. 10 episode. Per the logline, the show’s party planners visit Proto’s L.A. headquarters, then incorporate Proto in a surprise event celebrating a young science-enthusiast fundraising to save frogs and the rainforest.“Proto has always been about making extraordinary things happen and bringing people together, so working with Hallmark and the uplifting series Celebrations with Lacey Chabert felt like a perfect match,” said David Nussbaum, inventor/CEO of Proto Inc. The company’s credits include usage at the Emmys, Grammys, Comic-Con and Super Bowl.

CNN’s Jacopo Prisco wrote about Proto’s growing use in healthcare, education, hospitality and more. Highlighting West Cancer Center’s groundbreaking use of Proto for real hologram doctors appointments.“For oncology and palliative care patients, non-verbal communication is critically important, because we are often conveying complex information and sometimes delivering difficult or challenging news,”  Dr. W. Clay Jackson told CNN. “The patient experience with the Proto hologram is vastly superior to traditional, screen-based tele-health formats. The life-size, three-dimensional image truly immerses the patient in the visit, allowing them to give and receive communication as effectively as if I could reach out and touch them.”

The Twin Cities top morning drive talk show interviewed David Nussbaum about how Proto has made the future come alive now. The Audacy station’s superstar hosts Adam Carter and Jordana Green were originally intrigued by Proto beaming William Shatner to a conference in Florida and also got to hear about Proto’s work with Howie Mandel, Jon Bon Jovi, colleges like the University of Minnesota, and more.

Nathan Eddy of MobiHealthNews wrote about West Cancer Center in Memphis, Tennessee becoming the first healthcare facility to use Proto hologram for actual doctor-patient appointments by beaming doctors from it’s headquarters to its rural clinics across the state. Sylvia Richey, chief medical officer and medical oncologist at West Cancer Center and Research Institute, told MobiHealthNews that often cancer patients living in more rural communities are not able to travel to receive a higher level of care. “The Proto technology allows us to connect with the patient without them having the burden of long distance travel when they are not feeling well,” she said. “The feedback from patients thus far has been one of amazement and positivity.”

Japanese IT leader INTEC announced it has become a partner with Proto, “Through this partnership, INTEC will begin developing interactive, next-generation remote communication services that offer a fully immersive, three-dimensional experience. Both companies will collaborate to pioneer the holographic communication market. PROTO will provide the holographic devices and AI-powered spatial communication platform, while INTEC, leveraging its expertise in system integration, will conduct proof-of-concept trials in areas such as customer service, exploring the potential user value.”

“It sounds like something out of a “Star Trek” plot, but it’s something people are actually able to do at the West Cancer Center and Research Institute’s clinic in Paris, Tenn. Thanks to Proto’s  technology, patients at the clinic can consult with a specialist, even if there isn’t one onsite. The Proto unit allows someone to have a real-time conversation with a life-size holographic version of a person in another location. Rather than a telehealth consultation on a tiny laptop or smartphone screen, patients and doctors can see each other as if they were in the room together.  As far as cybersecurity and privacy are concerned, Proto reportedly takes them very seriously, having earned SOC Type 2 security certification. Mitch Graves, CEO of West Cancer, said ‘Our Paris, Tenn., clinic is one of our 11 locations and we are already expanding to a second location in October and I can see us expanding to several others in the future.'”

The global science and technology site New Atlas wrote about West Cancer Center in Tennessee using Proto to beam doctors to patients in its rural clinics — the first health care facility to do this anywhere. “I’ve had dozens of virtual visits on my cell phone and this holographic experience doesn’t compare,” said one of the Proto unit’s first patients at the West Cancer Center’s clinic. “It feels just like I am talking with my doctor face-to-face.”

Leading MMA site MMA Sucka’s Jeremy Brand interviewed Proto CEO David Nussbaum about how he met Dana White (Who walked and said, “‘I know a hundred ways to use this technology and I don’t really know what the hell I’m looking at. Explain this to me”), and how Proto AI tools enabled White to speak fluent Spanish at Noche306, the massive event at Sphere Las Vegas. “He plays 4-D chess,” Nussbaum said of White. “He knew what this technology was going to be used for without even knowing what it did, especially with Noche coming up months later and how because this was his love letter to Mexico, we were able to take his hologram, scan him, turn him into an AI [version of himself], and then he was able to speak perfect Spanish.”

The Brazilian music business site The Music Journal wrote about Jon Bon Jovi installing Proto at his Nashville bar so fans could visit his hologram, and the full bands as well. “Estou emocionado em ver Jon Bon Jovi integrando a tecnologia Proto Hologram no JBJs Nashville”, disse David Nussbaum , fundador do Proto Hologram. “Nossa tecnologia transforma apresentações ao vivo em uma experiência ‘Runaway’, permitindo que artistas como Jon Bon Jovi se conectem com seu público de uma forma que nunca foi possível antes. Alongside news from the UK’s NHS embracing VR, leading XR news site wrote about Proto announcing its use by West Cancer Center in Memphis at UC Berkeley’s Innovation Forum. “Mitch Graves, the CEO of West Cancer Center & Research Institute, explained: Within a 150-mile radius of our Germantown location, there are over 4.7 million people and over half live in rural towns. One positive that came from the pandemic is the acceptance and increased use of telemedicine, but with Proto the patient and doctor experience is substantially different.”

TalkSport’s Jordan Ellis reported on Joe Rogan’s visit to Noche UFC, the biggest event put on by the promotion ever, and the first ever sporting event at Sphere in Las Vegas. Rogan was particularly impressed by Proto’s holograms of the fighters on the card, including champions, and CEO Dana White. Proto’s AI Persona tools enabled Dana White’s hologram to speak Spanish to the fans, in honor of Mexican Independence Day and the country’s contribution to combat sports.

Alex Lee of MMA Fighting wrote about NocheUFC, the first ever sporting event at the Sphere in Las Vegas, and in addition to the dome’s massive video display, singled out Proto and its AI Hologram of UFC Dana White speaking Spanish in honor of the event’s Mexican Independence Day theme. MMA Fighting is one of he most respected MMA news and analysis sites and is syndicated on MSN and Yahoo.

Essentially Sports previewed UFC 306: NocheUFC, the massive event at Sphere and first sporting event ever there. The story explains Proto will present holograms of the top fighters and CEO Dana White. It will be the first time Proto has been inside the Sphere (previously it was at an adjacent event with the Jonas Brothers appearing as holograms), and the first time Proto has worked with the sport of MMA.

Fast Company healthcare innovation reporter Adele Peters wrote about West Cancer Center becoming the first healthcare facility to beam doctors to patient appointments using Proto. The announcement was made at UC Berkeley’s Innovation Forum at the Haas School of Business and at Stanford University, where the technology was demonstrated by West Cancer doctors beaming in to meed the attendees from companies like Apollo Hospitals India, NVIDIA, Dell, Medtronic and HPE.

Anchor David Briggs spoke with Proto CEO David Nussbaum and Proto investor and advisor Howie Mandel via live hologram beam. Nussbaum and Mandel were at Proto’s L.A. studios and they beamed into a Proto M unit atop Briggs’ desk at its Wall Street Studio. They could see and hear Briggs and react in real time, just as if they were in the room. “This revolutionizes communication,” said Briggs as Nussbaum explained that the price of a Proto M will soon make it within reach for household use around the world.

Guy Campos of leading AV authority AV Interactive wrote about how Mr Beast gave instructions in a battle of the sexes survival challenge in the North Carolina wilderness from a Proto studio set up 8,500 miles away in a cave in New Zealand. The YouTube star, who has 314 million subscribers on the platform, gave instructions to participants in a men vs women wilderness survival challenge, despite being 8,500 miles away. Mr Beast was unable to join for day 50 of the challenge as he had in the meantime embarked on a seven-day stay at the bottom of a cave for a separate video. Proto’s head of global customer deployment and operations Noah Rothstein had to rappel more than 300 metres down into the cave to reach Mr Beast. He then set up a studio kit on an uneven, wet, slippery cave floor, to beam images of the YouTube star into the holographic display an ocean and a continent away.

Reality show veteran and expert Rob Cesternino interviewed Proto CEO David Nussbaum on the leading fan and analysis podcast about the show Big Brother. On the episode they talk about the current season using Proto in every episode, including Proto’s AI Persona tools which have become a major “twist” of the season.

ABC News reports that West Cancer Center, serving Memphis and the state of Tennessee, became the first medical facility to begin offering real hologram appointments with doctors — extending the availability of their top doctors to their satellite clinics in rural areas. West Cancer has been testing since January 2024 and began offering the appointments in May. CEO Mitch Graves says, “The feedback has been amazing.”

Inspired by CBS’ Big Brother and its season-long AI Instigator plotline that uses Proto’s AI Persona tools, Entertainment Tonight visited Proto’s L.A. studios and had Denny Directo become an AI-enabled hologram on the spot. Danny was able to speak languages he doesn’t speak, have a conversation with his own AI Persona.

John Gray wrote on Hewlitt Packard Enterprise’s blog about Proto’s AI tools, “The challenge is that our best people can’t be everywhere at once. Especially our CEO, Antonio Neri. [So], last month at HPE Discover 2024, our “Antonio Nearly” demo captivated the show floor, drawing the attention of Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and HPE CEO Antonio Neri. Antonio Nearly is an LLM-powered holographic recreation of Antonio Neri that showcases an array of cutting-edge AI technologies. This solution is an LLM-powered Proto Hologram recreation of Antonio Neri that uses Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) with NVIDIA NeMo-Guardrails, accelerated by a TitanML inference server.”

Deadline’s Lynnette Rice visited Proto Hologram HQ to try out the new AI Persona tech being used on CBS’ Big Brother. Based on a minimal amount of data, Proto is able to present any of the houseguests on the new season in hologram form, saying anything the game requires, in this case the shocking use of houseguest Angela to take over the house without the real Angela’s knowledge.

ABC 7 in San Francisco covered the launch of AWS Gen AI Loft where it demonstrated Proto and its AI Persona tools by enabling top AI artist Claire Silver to attend via her avatar in hologram form. Claire could see and interact with the audience from her undisclosed location and operate the avatar’s gestures as she answered questions and spoke about AI art. Proto also demonstrated its AI Persona tools.

Sara Bloomberg wrote for the Bay Area Inno section of the San Francisco Business Journal about AWS Gen AI Loft opening in the City, featuring AI artist Claire Silver’s avatar interacting with the opening night audience live via Proto. Claire, off site in an undisclosed location, could see and hear everything in the room and respond in real time. Proto is a partner of AWS, and is being used as a way to present all manner of AI content and events using Claude, Bedrock and other partner platforms.

Fox 11 in Los Angeles covered VeeCon, singling out Proto’s demonstration during Howie Mandel’s talk with Canadian TV personality Shira Lazar. Howie called Proto CEO David Nussbaum up to demonstrate Proto’s AI Persona tools in an M unit, showing how Howie can speak any language using Proto, and be anywhere in the world.

Biz Bash, the event and meeting authority, singled out Proto’s photo booth capabilities as one of the top trends of the season. Proto has been used as a high tech photo booth at Fanatics Fest, the NBA All Star Game, the MusiCares Gala at the Grammys, SXSW and many more events globally.

Fox Business invited Howie Mandel on to preview Gary Vaynerchuck’s VeeCon at L.A. Live in Downton Los Angeles. The segment showed Proto holoportation being used in healthcare, education and by major stars, and Howie explains Proto’s new AI tools that allow for holographic twins that can speak in any language.

In Youngstown, Ohio, a new showroom had a grand opening with Proto CEO David Nussbaum and investor/advisor Howie Mandel beaming in live from Los Angeles to be interviewed by NBC’s Sydney Canty in hologram form. The new showroom is in partnership with Futuristicx.

Susan Hornik of the BBC wrote about CBS’ Big Brother using Proto Hologram and it’s AI Persona tools in the new season of the show. “The latest season of the US version of Big Brother has an AI focus. This includes a talking AI participant who appears in humanoid form on a screen. ‘Reality TV is almost always about reflecting our worries, obsessions and aspirations,’ says David Nussbaum, CEO of Proto. ‘We see AI tech all over the news… but its use on a show of this scale puts it in the minds of millions who will experience it, debate it, learn about it in a new way.'”

The New York Post’s Lydia Moynihan previews Christie’s annual summit pointing out that guests include Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, “Shark Tank” investor Kevin O’Leary and venture capitalist Vinod Khosla. Bonnie Brennan, Christie’s President, Americas, tells Moynihan about Christie’s investing in Proto Hologram, Elton John appearing via Proto, and her own beam to L.A.’s MOCA Museum for a live appearance.  She also talked about using Proto virtually display artwork around the world, like a hologram of Edgar Degas’ “Little Dancer of 14 Years” shown in San Francisco and Hong Kong. “The technology is so good that we’ve had clients actually say they thought they saw the work of art,” Brennan said.

Entertainment Weekly reports how CBS has been teasing the presence of Proto throughout the new season of Big Brother for weeks and today released a promo video of host Julie Chen Moonves interacting with her own AI-driven Proto Hologram on set. “The Chenbot hologram comes courtesy of Proto Hologram. CBS notes that Proto is “the world’s first and leading holographic communications and AI-powered spatial computing platform. Proto’s technology gives life-like presence to ‘BBAI’ through its proprietary volumetric platform.”

Forbes’ Leslie Katz wrote about CBS’ Big Brother’s 2024 premier unveiling a Proto Hologram unit built into the show’s “house” and plans to incorporate Proto’s new AI tools into the storyline. “Making a hologram like the one that will show up in season 26 of Big Brother requires filming the subject for about three minutes using a 4K camera and a light source,” Katz writes. “The subject talks conversationally and moves naturally so the company’s proprietary software can learn their voice tone and cadence, as well as their movements. The result is a digital doppelganger that can interact via text or conversation. ‘It looks like you, it sounds like you, it moves like you and it’s incredibly real,’ David Nussbaum, Proto Hologram’s founder and CEO, said in an interview.

Guy Campos at top AV news site from the UK writes, “Proto Hologram is collaborating on technology that will allow people to have an idea turned into animated holographic content in less than two minutes. The specialist in holographic display technology has partnered with Amazon Web Services Prototyping and Cloud Engineering (PACE) to “transform the way in which immersive content is created and consumed”. A text-to-hologram pipeline has been created that empowers users to generate dynamic hologram content  by inputting a few lines of text. The solution is built on a robust and scalable serverless architecture powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS). Amazon Titan Image Generator – an AI model trained on a vast library of images – creates a visual representation based on the user’s textual input. The generated image is transformed into a video. The video is then uploaded to the Proto Hologram content management system, becoming a hologram instantly.

On the day of the premiere of the new season of Big Brother, host Julie Chen Moonves released a video of her talking to her own AI Holographic Twin created with Proto’s new AI Persona suite of tools. Proto will be an integrated part of the entire season of Big Brother.

The Indian tech channel Smart Tech Show featured Proto inventor and CEO David Nussbaum demonstrating Proto Hologram technology by live beaming across the studio to a Proto Epic unit.

The Bosnian pet news and advice site wrote about  how Dr. Cindy Bressler, a well-known veterinarian, recently adopted a revolutionary technology to improve the diagnosis of her patients. One of the most urgent calls came from an extremely upset owner of a seven-year-old goldendoodle: the dog was drooling excessively and showing signs of lability and hypersensitivity to noise. In order to speed up the diagnosis and help the patient who would waste a lot of time fighting his way through the traffic jam, Bresler used her new device – Proto M, a hologram device.

The New York Post reported that top New York City veterinarian Dr. Cindy Bressler is using Proto hologram to let her clients in the Hamptons beam their pets to her Manhattan office as holograms so she can more clearly diagnose them remotely. By seeing them in hologram form on her Proto M she can more clearly spot clues about their condition.

Proto migrated to Amazon Bedrock and chose Anthropic’s Claude Instant, an FM available on Amazon Bedrock, to demonstrate a conversational avatar at a major conference. Amazon Bedrock allowed Proto to test the performance of various FMs before progressing to the next stage of development. As Raffi Kryszek, Chief Product and AI Officer at Proto explains, “Amazon Bedrock allowed us to test the performance of our avatar when sourced from different foundational models by only changing one line of code.”

Reporter Hilary Saunders for American roots music magazine No Depression interviewed Jewel about her museum show at Crystal Bridges Museum in Bentonville, Arkansas where she appears as a hologram in a Proto Epic unit, interpreting the themes of the museum-wide takeover she orchestrated. The show included her own work, and work chosen from the museum’s collection by Ruth Asawa, Fred Eversley, Julie Mehretu, Mickalene Thomas, Sam Gilliam. “I was so lucky to work with a fantastic team that helped realize my vision. From the folks at ProtoHologram to Nova Sky Stories, to the curators Alejo Benedetti and Austin Bailly and the entire team at Crystal Bridges,” she said.

The Morning Rush show spoke with David Nussbaum of Proto about the new installation at Jon Bon Jovi’s Nashville nightclub as well as to club executive manager Sydni Josephs who reported that fans are thrilled to meet hologram Jon. The segment, which airs in 65 stations in 43 markets, also previewed the news that West Cancer Center in Memphis is using Proto for appointments.

Loughborough University’s Gary Burnett and Vikki Locke presented a survey and test using Proto at the Media and Learning Conference in Leuven, Belgium. “The survey results indicated that social/co-presence was clearly high, with the students believing strongly that the hologram speaker was ‘in the room’, sentient, conscious of them and, essentially behaving as an authentic lecturer. Moreover, the student’s perceived satisfaction, engagement, and sense of learning suggested the experience was much closer to an in-person lecture than a video conferencing session.”

Vicki Drum of the top news site for the ticketing and event business wrote. “Nashville’s music scene has a new, high-tech addition: a permanent hologram of Jon Bon Jovi at the newly opened JBJ’s Nashville. The innovative hologram, installed by Proto Inc. in collaboration with the venue and Big Plan Holdings, features Jon Bon Jovi in 4K resolution, marking the first time a Proto hologram unit has been permanently installed in a bar or music venue. More members of the band are expected to be installed later this year.”

The Washington Wizards beamed their draft pick Alex Sarr from Barclays Center in Brooklyn to the arena in Washington D.C. to meet fans and media immediately after the pick. Sarr was able to see and hear and interact with the interviewers and fans in D.C. just as if he was really there.

Billboard’s Jessica Nicholson broke the news that JBJ’s in Nashville has become the first music venue and first restaurant to permanently install a hologram unit. The first of two planned Proto units is in and presents a hologram of Jon Bon Jovi. Soon, holograms of the rest of the band members will join him in a second unit. The units will be able to beam in surprise guests from anywhere in the world for live hologram interactions.

The top Airport operations news site wrote, “Proto, the original patented hologram device and platform that makes holoportation a reality, announced that its advisor, Howie Mandel, will beam in live to surprise travelers at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) Terminal 4, operated by JFKIAT. The America’s Got Talent star is celebrating the recently expanded use of Proto at the terminal, including the presentation of Bronx Zoo Director Jim Breheny introducing sloths, alligators, pelicans, owls, and warthogs in holographic form.”

Reporter Noah Eckstein wrote about JFK Terminal 4 becoming the first airport to install hologram machines, and a recent surprise live hologram visit from Howie Mandel. Raoul Huinink, CEO of JFK International Air Terminal said, “The sky’s the limit,” when asked about expansion of Proto Hologram into other parts of the airport, and other uses.

Singer/Songwriter Jewel went on Access Hollywood and showed her hologram which is featured in her incredible art exhibition at Crystal Bridges Art Museum. She also made the television debut of her new song, “Upon Meeting the Goddess of Love,” performing on guitar in hologram form in the Proto M unit.  “I love this technology. It’s from Proto Hologram. It’s a really neat way to be present without being there,” said Jewel.

Claire Hoffman of BizBash, the Bible of the event industry featured the Four Seasons adding Proto holograms to its top suites at its Beverly Wilshire Hotel as one of the top Event Venue News stories of the month — explaining that it already allows for live-beam meetings with concierges and soon new features will be offered such as beaming in guests for meetings.

Hotel Business’ Gregg Wallis wrote about the Beverly Hills property of the Four Seasons adding Proto Hologram units to its top suites, enabling concierges to beam up live for scheduled meetings with guests. “That’s why so many guests stay with us,” said Reed Kandalaft, regional VP/GM. “They know we provide our guests with the latest in technology, experiences and design. Introducing The Proto M is yet another way we continue to pioneer in this ever-evolving landscape!”

W wrote about Jewel’s show The Portal at the Crystal Bridges Museum in Bentonville, Arkansas. The exhibit features the singer-songwriter appearing in a Proto Epic in hologram form, explaining the themes of the show. She also performs a song specially written for the museum exhibit.

Proto received two nominations from the prestigious Auggie Awards, part of the AWE conference in June. The hologram and travel-replacement startup was nominated in the category Best Climate Change Solution. Proto was also nominated for Best Interactive Experience. The winners will be announced June 19th.

Vogue Business’ Maghan McDowell wrote about Proto hologram as an example of new technology preserving archival fashion items — on the occasion of the Met Ball, mentioning Christie’s use of Proto with Vivienne Westwood and the gowns of Donna Summer. “For the Proto holograms used by Christie’s, the garments are photographed in 360 degrees in a special studio, then displayed in 4K resolution via a life-sized rectangular box. This enables garments to travel the world and to be seen at close range, without the same degradation or security risks, says Proto Hologram advisor and head of media Owen Phillips”

ArtNet’s Margaret Carrigan includes Proto Hologram’s Jewel hologram as one of the highlights at the singer’s new show at Crystal Bridges Museum in Arkansas. In the Proto Epic, Jewel tells visitors the themes of the show, called The Portal, and sings a new song written for the exhibition accompanied on guitar.

Owen Lloyd wrote in The Tech Stack newsletter from the top news site for sports stadiums and arenas, about the Chicago Bears use of Proto hologram to beam the teams’ draft picks Caleb Williams and Roman Odunze from the Detroit draft event to Soldier Field in Chicago to meet fans and participate in a holographic interview. The players could see and hear the fans and media and react in real time, just as if they were in two places at once.

Extra visited Proto Hologram headquarters and interviewed Howie Mandel about his new show Deal or No Deal Island, and his use of Proto, which led to Extra’s Terri Seymour becoming a hologram instantly, demonstrating Proto’s beaming abilities. “How cool is this?” Terri says, in Proto Hologram form. “Well it’s germ free!” says Howie, referring to his famous germaphobic. “That makes me more comfortable!”

Noelle Mateer wrote in Hotel Dive, part of the Industry Dive group of publications, about the Four Seasons becoming the first company worldwide to install hologram units in hotel suites, using the Proto M at it’s Beverly Wilshire location. “According to Nussbaum, Proto has had the technology to do this for years. But when it came to placing it in hotel rooms, it was about finding the “right partner.” In the case of the Beverly Wilshire, it meant a hotel with a track record of implementing forward-thinking technology,” Noelle wrote.

Chicago Bears’ play-by-play announcer Jeff Joniak interviewed Caleb Williams, the teams’ #1 overall NFL Draft pick live via Proto Hologram at the VIP watch party at Soldier Field immediately after he was picked. Caleb was in Detroit but was able to see and hear and react to Jeff and the crowd just as if he was in the room.

At the most important post-season NFL moment of the year, the Chicago Bears beamed their draft pick Caleb Williams, the #1 over all pick, live from the event in Detroit to Soldier Field in Chicago to interact with fans via Proto Hologram. Moments later, the Bears also beamed Roman Odunze, their pick in the #9 overall spot, to Chicago.

“It’s great. I’m ready. I’m ready,” Caleb Williams told ESPN Radio interviewers while they interviewed him in Proto Hologram form at the VIP watch party at Soldier Field. He was beaming in live from the NFL Draft event in Detroit and could see and hear and interact with the crowd in real time.

AP’s Noah Trister reported on the Chicago Bears beaming overall #1 NFL Draft pick Caleb Williams from Detroit to Chicago moments after his selection. Williams was interviewed by “the voice of the Bears” Jeff Joniak live in front of a VIP crowd at Soldier Field.

Travel Industry business news leader Skift’s Justin Dawes broke the news that Proto Hologram and Four Seasons have partnered to put hologram units in select suites at its Beverly Wilshire location in Beverly Hills. Dawes quotes Reed Kandalaft, general manager of Beverly Wilshire, telling him that the hotel is starting with interactive concierge capability, but it’s exploring other ways the devices could be used:  “That includes projecting guests to remote meetings, providing shopping options with luxury retailers on Rodeo Drive, hosting business speakers, and offering entertainment and fitness content.”

South Korea’s rising idol group, Loossemble, is gathering attention with their ingenious collaboration with Elite school uniforms and Emart24. This project, particularly aimed at capturing the interest of the Zalpha generation (late teens to early twenties), was revealed through Emart24’s official YouTube channel. In the video, Loossemble members can be seen wearing Elite school uniforms and holding kimbap sold by Emart24. The video was produced using ‘Proto hologram’ technology, offering a new visual experience different from traditional photo videos.

Proto was featured during Spain’s top prime time variety show’s weekly science and technology segment, demonstrating with hosts appearing in the Proto Epic unit to interview special guest, Moto GP superstar Pedro Acosta. Qatar Airways launched its Sama 2.0 program of AI virtual flight attendants in Germany this week, bringing the avatars out from the Metaverse and into the public using Proto hologram technology.

The New York Times featured Proto hologram and the AI-powered recreation of Sam Walton in Jordyn Holman’s story about the massive retailer’s manager training program. The company uses the hologram in a Proto Epic unit for conversational sessions with employees who learn company culture directly from the founder.

For its Fan Fest event at Oracle Park, the San Francisco Giants beamed players live from Spring Training in Scottsdale, Arizona to meet and greet fans. The players could see and hear and interact with the fans in the Giants’ locker room in real time, just as if they were in the room.

At the Hyundai Seoul Mall, fans take a chance on the lottery  take selfies with the viral, virtual pop group Plave — appearing from the metaverse in a Proto Epic unit. The Creative Mutt produced event let’s fans meet band members Yejun, Noah, Bambi, Eunho, Hamin. It’s just the latest use of Proto hologram and Creative Mutt by major KPOP stars.

In partnership with Proto’s German distributor Pave, Qatar Airways launched an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered digital human cabin crew, a holographic figure named Sama 2.0, to assist passengers in designing curated travel experiences. Sama 2.0 appeared in a Proto Epic unit at the ITB Berlin travel and trade exhibition.

At Mobile World Congress, Proto debuted its Bedrock-powered AI avatars at the Amazon AWS section. During the event, AWS and Proto beamed AWS VP Matt Wood live from Seattle to Barcelona, allowing himto chat with MWC 2024 attendees. Wood could see and communicate with the MWC 2024 audience in real-time during the broadcast, supporting QandAs.

Inside Higher Ed’s Lauren Coffey wrote about the use of Proto holograms to beam teachers to classrooms — citing the recent news of Loughborough University in the UK becoming the first school in Europe to use the technology, and acknowledging Proto as the leader in hologram tech.  The tech can also be used to show art, architecture, engineering projects and more, “If they have a project, they could show it off in a magical, engaging way where one student goes out, another comes in and it becomes a demonstration,” said Gary Burnett, a professor of digital creativity at Loughborough.

The NBA All Star Game event NBA Crossover event in Indianapolis featured two Proto Epics which beamed in holograms of a dozen All Star players to meet fans. Players participating in the hologram technology included Bam Adebayo and Jamie Jaquez Jr. of the Miami Heat, Myles Turner of the Indian Pacers, and Tyres Maxey of the Philadelphia 76ers.

PepsiCo’s FritoLay built an elaborate activation around Proto at the New York, New York hotel in Las Vegas to celebrate the Super Bowl. Chester Cheetah appeared in a Proto Epic to marry couples live — he was operated by an actor in Los Angeles wearing a mocap suit who could see and hear the couples and react in real time.

PepsiCo took over the New York, New York resort to build a wedding chapel where a hologram Chester the Cheetah in a Proto Epic married couples. Chester could see and hear the couples and react in real time — but he wasn’t an AI, he was a live actor in a mocap suit hundreds of miles away in Los Angeles beaming in live.

PepsiCo’s Frito Lay’s activation brought mascot Chester the Cheetah to life via an actor in a mocap suit beaming in live from L.A. to marry couples in the pop up chapel at New York, New York resort in Las Vegas. The “Chester” avatar could see and hear the couples in real time and react naturally.

For the auction Sir Elton John: Goodbye Peachtree Road at Christie’s Rockefeller Center showroom, a Proto Epic was the center piece of the week long preview auction and featured a hologram of the iconic singer greeting visitors and explaining the contents–and meaning — of the auction. It was the first ever hologram of Elton John.

Massive viral news platform Now This Media covered the rise of Proto Hologram for use in courtrooms to allow for witnesses to appear remotely. William & Mary Law School has completed a study involving federal and military judges that concluded the quality of the real time, interactive holoportation Proto provides is just as valid as a witness appearing to testify in person.

Jon Bon Jovi appeared via Proto Hologram at the Grammys Weekend MusiCares Gala in his honor. The singer posed with black tie guests who lined up to take selfies. Other music stars recently using Proto include Elton John and the Jonas Brothers.

Creative Mut & Proto Korea have been named finalists for South Korean Streaming TV Giant Wave’s promotion at the Busan International Film Festival for its new film “Deal.” The activation involved the creation of the world’s first hologram truck — outfitted with two Proto Epics containing holograms of stars of the film, including Yoo Seung-ho, Kim Dong-hwi, and Yoo Soo-bin. The truck roamed Busan, and later Seoul. “We used a marketing strategy that took advantage of technology such as holograms and mobile media,” said Han Jeong-eun, head of Wave’s marketing group.

Proto hologram is beaming professors into college classrooms worldwide, and could even bring back legends like Stephen Hawking or Albert Einstein using AI technology.  The Post Wrote, “Students “absolutely love” the hologram guest speakers, Prof Vikki Locke, director of undergraduate studies at Loughborough business school, told The Guardian.”

Spain’s biggest paper wrote about the evolution of education sparked by Proto and its surge in universities around the world — most recently with the installation of the first Proto unit in a college in Europe, at Loughborough University in the UK.

The Guardian’s Rachel Hall broke the news that Loughborough University became the first school in the UK to install Proto, intending to use it for beaming in professors from its satellite campus, special speakers from MIT and around the world and to aid 3D design and medical study. “Prof Vikki Locke, the director of undergraduate studies at Loughborough business school, said students “absolutely love” the technology and have been begging for selfies with the gadget. They would prefer “a guest speaker from industry beaming into a classroom to a 2D person on the wall.”

The leading journalist on XR technology and culture featured legendary Faith Popcorn, Proto’s Official Futurist, on his weekly podcast, The Week in XR. They spoke about the future of holoportation, why she joined Proto — even though she has never taken a position at another company in her decades-long career, and about Proto’s place at AARP’s Age Tech section at CES.

Axios’ Jennifer Kingon broke the news with an exclusive interview with Faith Popcorn. “I think it’s the thing before time travel,” Popcorn said. “I think we’re a bit away from time travel, but I think this is the closest we’ve gotten so far….If you’ve ever seen water in the Proto, you feel like you could drink it, the resolution is so high. It’s like the ultimate delivery system, I guess, in three-dimensional skin and bones — real life.”

On the AgeTech Collaborative from AARP stage, Howie Mandel and William Shatner, who both serve as advisors to Proto, beamed in from Los Angeles to address the CES crowd via hologram. At CES, the company announced that Faith Popcorn, CEO of marketing consulting firm BrainReserve, has joined Proto as its “Official Futurist.”

Sara Keenan of People of Color in Tech wrote about investors in Proto including Quavo, Lil Wayne, Albert Pujols and Robert Griffin III. The music and sports stars are backers of the original patented hologram machine and the platform that makes holoportation a reality.

Mashable’s always entertaining Kimberly Gedeon, included Proto among five “weird trends” coming at CES 2024. The list of only five items includes AARP’s Age Tech Collective section of the convention where Proto’s use to combat isolation is highlighted. The story also points out that Proto was recently featured on Hulu’s The Kardashians.

SoftBank Winter Cup Tournament ambassadors Yuki Kawamura, the B.League basketball star from the Yokohama B-Corsairs, and W League star Aika Hirashita of the Toyota Antelopes, will greet the fans and the artists Lil League from Exile Tribe performed the event’s official theme song – all via Proto hologram. “SoftBank Corp. is implementing this initiative to enhance visitor satisfaction by leveraging it to create new forms of communication,” the company said.

Fox News wrote about Hollywood’s current take on the AI boom, mentioning Simon Cowell, Sheryl Crow and Justine Bateman, among those who are fearful of the tech, but also featured Howie Mandel and his investment in Proto and use of its devices and AI products in his own studio.

Sports Business Journal lead tech reporter Rob Schaefer wrote about Cici Belli’s Cartan Capital joining Proto’s current found. “[The investment] reassures us that we are on the right track, because [Bellis has] incredible vision,” Proto founder and CEO David Nussbaum told SBJ. “If we’re her first investment, that speaks volumes to me. It re-energizes me, it motivates me, to have somebody place that amount of trust and faith in Proto. We really want to invest back into the world of professional sports and entertainment as a means of education and communication and connecting people.”

At Fortune’s first AI summit, in San Francisco, Proto head of innovation Raffi Kryszek spoke about ProtoBot’s use for senior citizens along side AARP CIO Najeeb Uddin, Renate Nyborg,  CEO of Meeno and Ann Garnier, CEO of Lisa Health. “The biggest bottleneck for adoption of tools is friction of usability, and that’s often very prevalent in the older demographics,” said Kryszek. “There’s nothing more natural than conversation.”

The Hotel X in Toronto has launched the first virtual hologram concierge in its lobby, using Proto hologram in partnership with Canadian firm HoloMedia. Matt Black, the Hotel Director said, “A few children have asked us where she sleeps at night as the technology really makes it seem like she is in the box!”

On this edition of AI Unlocked, Gizmodo writer Thomas Germain interviews a ChatGPT powered hologram bot. Move aside Zoom, there’s a new video chat service combining hologram and AI tech. This is Protobot from Proto, and at first glance, it comes across as a customer service tool that you can interact with.

The UK’s top AV industry magazine wrote about Hulu’s The Kardashians and Jimmy Kimmel Live both using Proto as an integrated part of their content in the same week — extending the use of the hologram technology from marketing uses (by Netflix, HBO, FITE and others) into being part of the stories. The piece also notes the use of Proto in the massive Indian hit on StarMaa/Disney+ Bigg Boss Telegu (their version of Big Brother) and on the hit Indonesian singing competition show Trending Star.

The Wall Street Jounral’s Isabelle Bousquette wrote about the new Builder Studio from Amazon’s AWS in the historic Lord & Taylor building in Manhattan, where Proto technology is demonstrated for enterprise clients. She interviewed Raffi Kryszek, Proto’s head of AI & innovation who said,  “We have YouTube videos all over the place of people experiencing our products. It’s just not the same as having a volumetric spatial computing experience in person’…. Kryszek said Proto is currently in conversations with a large fashion brand that got interested in the tech while walking through the Builder Studio.”

The Daily Mail told their 80 million global readers about Hulu’s The Kardashians’  Kris Jenner visiting Proto studios at Paris Hilton’s suggestion, learning about Proto from Howie Mandel and CEO David Nussbaum, and using it to beam to Khloe Kardashian’s house and appearing in Proto Epics and Proto Ms for a hologram heart-to-heart. It was Proto’s first time on an unscripted, non-competition show. “Now I can be in 2, 3, 4 places at once! ” said Kris Jenner.

The Las Vegas Review Journal’s John Katsilometes broke the news that the Jonas Brothers appeared in hologram form for the first time in a Proto Epic unit at a Coca Cola event for its new AI-driven flavor, Y3000, that took place at the Sphere in Las Vegas.

“Proto was featured on the latest episode of The Kardashians on Hulu/Disney+ – with Kris Jenner beaming in to both large and small Proto hologram units at her daughter Khloe’s home to have a surprise talk with her. Howie Mandel and Paris Hilton also appeared in the Proto segments. It marked Proto’s first time on an unscripted, non-competition series.”

On Jimmy Kimmel Live, Patrick Dempsey was revealed to be 2023’s “Sexiest Man Alive” via an audience guessing game. The actor beamed onto the stage in a Proto Epic unit with his face covered by virtual masks. “Thanks to our friends at Proto,” said Kimmel.

Carol Vogel of the New York Times included Proto in her look at the changes the auction industry is making, writing, Christie’s, “sophisticated technology [that] has given buyers confidence to acquire works without viewing them in person,” like the Degas that Proto beamed to San Francisco and Hong Kong which went on to sell for $41.6M.

Former NHL star and current ESPN host PK Subban got Proto pranked upon arriving at our Van Nuys headquarters with Howie Mandel beaming in to welcome him. PK got the chance to become an instant hologram himself before the two settled down to talk hockey.

Vogue Business’ Maghan McDowell wrote about the use of avatars in fashion and beauty pointing out Proto’s use of hologram models by H&M and the RTFTK x Nike event in Tokyo featuring mo-cap suit operated holograms of digital humans designed by artist Takashi Murakami. Proto events, including early hologram “pranks” by Ellen DeGeneres and Jimmy Kimmel using Proto, have now inspired Sephora’s Nars brand with their most recent event featuring virtual ambassadors.

Howie Mandel and Proto CEO David Nussbaum beamed in live from Los Angeles to Las Vegas to talk with FOX 5 More Las Vegas’ Dani Masten about the first Proto to be permanently installed on The Strip, and the first ever to be placed in a comedy club. The multiple morning segments involved Howie and David explaining how comics can beam in to do shows live from anywhere in the world and also showed hologram Jimmy Kimmel and Guillermo talking to fans. As Dani said, “It just doesn’t get cooler than this!”

John Katsilometes, Las Vegas’ leading entertainment journalist, broke the news in the Las Vegas Review-Journal that Jimmy Kimmel’s Comedy Club has installed a Proto Epic unit — the first permanent installation in a comedy club and the first permanent installation in Las Vegas. Jimmy Kimmel and sidekick Guillermo appear to talk to guests in hologram form and comics can beam in for live, fully interactive shows. Howie Mandel beamed in to talk to Katsilometes and said, “This technology is, I think, as exciting as the iPhone was when it came out.”

Erik Barnes of Cracked singled out Andy Kindler beaming from L.A. to Montreal to do his live “State of the Industry” comedy set at the Just for Laughs festival as the number one “Hall of Fame” moment for the comedian, calling it “historic.”

Featuring Proto Epic units and innovative vibration control, a truck built by Proto Korea and Creative Mut for Korean OTT giant Wavve was seen all over the Busan International Film Festival promoting the new series “Deal.”  The stars of the film appeared in hologram form and the units were linked to show room-sized versions of scenes from the film. After debuting at Busan, the hologram truck is back in Seoul, roaming the streets of Gangnam day and night.

Proto was everywhere at the Busan International Film Festival in October 2023. Wavve’s new mini-series “Deal” was promoted everywhere via the first mobile hologram truck, created by Proto Korea and Creative Mut. Spot TV News praised the innovative marketing concept and its witty connection to the narrative of the TV show being promoted.

The museum in Paris has utilized Proto technology to display a rare sculpture by Alberto Giacometti that was too delicate to be transported from its home in Switzerland. The life-like presentation, using a Proto M, produced by the museum and Proto allows viewers to see the early version of The Nose, alongside all of the other versions of the piece including the one recently purchased by Justin Sun.

The top news outlet for the sports arena and stadium business wrote about the debut of the George Brett hologram produced for the Kansas City Royals by their agency Pine Tar Collective and Transcend Holographic Media. Hall of Famer Brett told the story for the famous Pine Tar Bat incident via hologram, up close and personal with fans during a three day Royals vs. Yankees series.

Proto hologram is part of a museum exhibition for the first time, and making its first public appearance in France, at the Fondation Giacometti. Using a Proto M to display a version of Alberto Giacometti’s sculpture The Nose that was too fragile to ship from it’s home in Switzerland, the Fondation has found a perfect use case for holograms and the art world.

Sports Business Journal’s Joe Lemire broke the news that Transcend Holographic Media, in partnership with the Kansas City Royals, produced a hologram of Hall of Fame player George Brett telling the story of the famous Pine Tar Bat Incident. The hologram was presented in a Proto Epic unit at Kauffman Stadium during a series of games between the Royals and the Yankees.  Tony Snethen, the Kansas City Royals Vice President of Brand Innovation and agency lead of Pine Tar Collective, said “Working with Transcend Holographic Media and Proto provides valuable new tools for engaging and providing a stadium experience that’s second to none.”

Kansas City’s local news leader KCWE visited Kauffman Stadium to meet the George Brett hologram and hear the legend of the Pine Tar Bat incident. The hologram was produced by the Kansas City Royals in association with Transcend Holographic Media. “I remember watching the pine tar game as a child who was one of the biggest Royals fans in the world. It was a moment – like it was for many others – that is now blazed in baseball history,” said Andrew Loos, Co-Founder of Transcend Holographic Media. “So, to be able to tell the story in such an innovative and dynamic way all these years later has been an incredible experience — an experience any Royals fan, or fan of baseball in general, will love.”

UK tech for enterprise site Tech HQ’s Fiona Jackson wrote about her demo trying ProtoBot, the first AI hologram chat assistant, and an in depth conversation about ProtoGPT with CEO David Nussbaum and AI lead Raffi Kryszek.

Sports Illustrated wrote about Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones installing a Proto Epic at AT&T Stadium as part of the special “Owners Tour” behind the scenes. The experience allows fans to ask Jerry Jones questions and, using AI technology, his hologram is able to respond instantly. The debut of the Jerry Jones hologram in the Proto unit was covered by hundreds of news outlets all over the world.

Switzerland’s top paper sent their Silicon Valley correspondent, Marie-Astrid Langer,  to visit Proto’s Los Angeles headquarters — and to witness Jimmy Kimmel becoming a hologram in person.

To introduce Proto’s hologram AI chatbot — the world’s first — Reuters visited William Shatner at his office in Los Angeles and witness his discussion with ProtoBot about AI ethics and emotions.  Reuters’ Rollo Ross broke the news that ProtoBot will launch September 8th and be included in every Proto unit sold. “I’m asking ProtoBot questions that ordinarily a computer doesn’t answer,” Shatner told Reuters. “A computer answers two plus two, but does ProtoBot know what love is? Can ProtoBot understand sentience? Can they understand emotion? Can they understand fear?”

Airing across the Arab-speaking world, Voice of America produced a documentary about Proto hologram with a visit to the Los Angeles studio to try holoportation and meet the brilliant Protopians that make it a reality. The Nigerian tech leader MTN, used the Proto Epic to tour with the nation’s top Hip Hop artists including Qdot and Slowdog, marking the first time the full size proto unit and holographic platform has been used on the continent. Fans were able to interact with the stars at a series of pop up events across the country.

Dazed and Confused Korea featured Son Heung-Min, the Premier League star player from the Tottenham Hotspurs as he opened Tumi’s new Essentially Beautiful pop up store in Seoul. The Proto Epic at the center of the experience displayed Tumi luggage in hologram form and allowed visitors to become instant holograms themselves, with anime filters.

The authority on IT for state and local governments included Proto’s work with Gallaudet University, exploring how hologram communications can improve remote ASL learning, in its Emerging Tech news round up: “At the Visual-Centric Teaching and Learning Symposium hosted by Gallaudet this spring, university president Roberta J. Cordano “beamed” into the Epic to interact with attendees using American Sign Language. The school is interested in the technology’s potential to host guest speakers from around the world.”

NBC 4 Los Angeles covered the Anaheim Ducks’ NHL Draft party where their pick Leo Carlsson beamed live from Nashville to the Honda Center to reveal the new 30th anniversary jersey to fans and media for the first time. Leo could see, hear and interact with the fans of his new home team in real time.

In the feature, “Tom Segura Answeres the Web’s Most Asksed Questions,” the comedian talks about how he beamed in via Proto from Austin to the Bert Kriescher’s roast put on by Whitney Cummings which tried on Only Fans TV”  “I was absolutely mesmerized by this. Whitney Cummings is great comic and a producer and she put together a roast of my buddy Bert Kreischer and I couldn’t make it and she was like, Oh, I’ll just send a crew to your studio and you can do your set on this latest and greatest hologram. I thought it was going to look like, oh, like sort of a rough image, like what you imagine a hologram was kind of from 20 years ago. Dude, it looks like I am standing in the room. It is actually terrifying.”

Sports Daily’s David Evans wrote, “Carlsson’s holographic reveal of [the Ducks’ 30th anniversary jersey] came as a pleasant surprise for fans who had gathered at the Honda Center in Anaheim for the watch party. Ensuring the jersey unveiling was an affair to remember, the Ducks leveraged Proto Hologram technology to introduce Carlsson and the new attire from a distance of 2,000 miles. This innovative blend of history, sportsmanship, and cutting-edge technology has set a new standard in the sports world.”

Ryan S. Clark of ESPN broke the news about the Ducks using Proto to beam their second overall draft pick, Leo Carlsson, from the NHL Draft in Nashville to the Anaheim draft party at Honda Center instantly, so he could interact with fans and media at his new home. Carlsson also unveiled the Ducks’ new 30th anniversary jersey via Proto. “It’s something that has never been done at a draft with a sports team in this context,” Ducks VP of Marketing Merit Tully said. “There are higher-profile opportunities when it has been used. Ellen [DeGeneres] used it once on her show and did some really neat things with it. We thought, ‘How do we be creative? How do we be a bit futuristic and how do we apply that in the sports world?'”

Octogan Metataiment launched their new partnership with Proto in Hong Kong at SoHo House, where superstar Wang Zixuan together with musicians and 4K holographic projection robots in the Proto Epic, sang the new song “More than FOMO.”  Zixuan said: “The epidemic makes me unable to fly and work, which stimulates me to think of a way to cooperate with anyone around the world without geographical restrictions, or even touring? The same performer can sing in different places at the same time. The most important thing is that he can interact with the audience in real time, and he can chat with the performer. [Through Proto] you can get close and real contact with the audience.”

The Anaheim Ducks used Proto to unveils their 30th anniversary jersey live from the NHL Draft in Nashville to the team’s draft party at Honda Center in Anaheim. Their 2nd overall draft pick Leo Carlsson also beamed in live, immediately after being chosen, to meet fans and media at his new home.  It was the first time a pro sports team has used Proto to beam a draft pick.

SimiLEARN, the University of Central Florida and Dr. Hologram partnered to use Proto devices to enhance Telehealth experiences: “Beyond its practical applications, holoportation also has profound psychological implications. It creates an immersive experience that simulates an in-person encounter when physical distance would otherwise hinder personal care. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) recognizes the potential of holoportation in enabling intimate healthcare interactions between veterans and specialists across the country through two-way holographic discussions. In the future, both patients and providers could engage in fully holographic care visits, offering rural veterans access to top-tier healthcare professionals without leaving their communities.”

Above the Law’s Chris Williams wrote about William & Mary Law’s use of Proto hologram in its courtroom/classrooms: “Back in the day, your witnesses had to be in the actual courtroom for the most part. In the short future, they may just have to be “there” — technologically speaking. It isn’t too bold of a claim to make considering that we’ve been dealing with the realities of Zoom trials for a while now. But the future holds something a little bit cooler than the person testifying donning a little face filter…[Questions about] things like “constitutionality” aside, the developments that technology brings to the field can make some fundamental changes to how we do business.”

Amanda Robert wrote in the ABA Journal about William & Mary Law using Proto holograms in its courtrooms to test its use for remote witness testimony. The improved definition in the picture gave the people watching and hearing the witness a better chance to evaluate their credibility,” said Judge John Gibney Jr. of the Eastern District of Virginia , who told Reuters that the hologram witnesses were better than seeing witnesses through a video screen.

Mateusz Raczka of the Polish tech authority OIOT wrote about Proto being tested by Gallaudet University of Washington D.C. for use in American Sign Language communications. “The use of a holographic booth by Gallaudet students proves that this innovative technology has great potential.”

NBC affiliate, WAVY-TV covered William & Mary Law School’s use of Proto holograms in tests with real Federal judges for witness testimony. The quality of the interactions, giving judges and juries the chance to gauge a remote witnesses’ authenticity, was deemed of tremendous value and experts expect Proto hologram use to be adopted world wide.

Voicebot.AI’s Eric Hal Schwartz broke the news about the AI avatars Proto is developing in partnership with CodeBaby. CodeBaby president Norrie Daroga told him: “By combining our technology with Proto’s holographic platform, we can create avatars that are not only realistic and lifelike, but also able to have meaningful conversations with users.”

IT Web’s Sibahle Malinga reported on will i am’s opening keynote at Sentech Africa Tech Week 2023 in Cape Town, South Africa. The rapper and tech entrepreneur had a conversation on AI with TV anchor Leanne Manas. He was beamed from Los Angeles for the interactive hologram conversation.

EdScoop’s Higher Ed expert Lindsay McKenzie writes about the only liberal arts college devoted to the deaf and hard of hearing, “In testing, [Dr. Laurene] Simms said, students were far more enthusiastic about the hologram tech than Zoom calls. And with a life-size instructor in the room, conversations feel more interactive, she said. Aside from instruction, Simms said, holograms have the potential to help preserve ASL, creating a formal record of the language through 3D recordings. “[ASL is] not spoken, it’s not verbal,” Simms said. “If we don’t take action, it could fade away…It was kind of surreal, kind of like Star Trek.”

Proto beamed will i am, the Black Eyed Pea founder and entrepreneur, from Los Angeles to Sentech’s Africa Tech Week 2023 in Cape Town, South Africa to give the opening keynote about AI and algorithmic bias. “I’m so happy to be beamed in,” said will i am. “It’s great to use this technology to be in multiple places at once.”

Alex Abenchuchan, host of The Deaf News, talks with Dr. Laurene Simms of Gallaudet University about using Proto for sign language learning. “When I first saw it it was surreal,” said Dr. Simms. “It’s fabulous…You can sit back and watch someone for a long time. With a flat screen like Zoom you get eye fatigue very easily.”

Writing about Christie’s Art + Tech Dubai conference, Stephanie Dieckvoss says, much of Proto’s business “lies with sports personalities and pop stars who interact virtually with their audience, but they are also interested in art. David Nussbaum, founder and CEO, who patented the proto-technology, said: “Art also has its stars. Takashi Murakami just used Proto at the Geisai fair in Tokyo last week. We are grateful to Christie’s for understanding that the emotional quality that Proto delivers is also reflected in a masterpiece like Degas or Giacometti.”

Argentina’s leading tech site, Tyn, wrote about inspirational speaker Ismael Cala beaming live from New Delhi to Mexico City to lead a guided mediation for the 2000 visitors at EXMA Holistic 2023.  Cala was also interviewed by EXMA founder Fernando Anzures who told Ten, “Aunque Ismael estará a 9 mil millas de distancia, el holograma Proto hará que se sienta como si estuviera realmente en la habitación conmigo y los invitados de EXMA. Formaremos una conexión poderosa a través del espacio y el tiempo que será inolvidable.”

At the Digital and Technology Ministerial Meeting of the Seven Advanced Countries (G7) opened at G Messe Gunma in Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture, Japans Digital Minister Taro Kono became a Proto hologram. The Proto Epic unit was provided by Proto’s Japanese partner, Softbank.

Theme park expert and historian Derek Libbey wrote in Cinema Blend about Jimmy Kimmel Live! beaming Chris Pratt to Disney land to surprise park guests getting off the Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout ride. “It’s pretty hilarious to watch these people interact with what they’re told is an AI hologram. It appears to pretty much fool everybody…It seems all but certain that as this technology continues to improve we’ll start to see it more in attractions at Disney Parks.”

Appearing on late night television for the first time, Proto was used to beam Chris Pratt from Kimmel’s studio in Hollywood to the Guardians of the Galaxy ride in Disneyland. The moment was also the first time Proto has been used at a theme park. Kimmel praised Proto by name on air and the hilarious prank went viral earning millions of views across social media the next day.

Proto was utilized at a theme park for the first time by Jimmy Kimmel Live. The biggest show in late night television used Proto to beam Chris Pratt to the Guardians of the Galaxy ride and prank park guests. Fans were shocked to realize the realistic 4K volumetric hologram was live from the Kimmel studio. Jimmy jumped in to to join the fun.

ABC Seattle affiliate KOMO report on a the VIP party at Seattle’s iconic Spaceneedle where the Seattle Seahawks beamed in star players to congratulate the new draft picks and greet lucky fans. Other NFL teams that have used Proto include the Dallas Cowboys, the Denver Broncos, and the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Drew Barrymore Show featured Proto. “I have to say I did a little dive on David Nussbaum,” says Drew. “I was like who is this gentleman because this could be one of those things that in a few years — it’s just a fact of life. Remember this story, because I think in the not very far future this is going to be a very standard norm. Proto M. David Nussbaum. He could be the guy.”

The site Industry of Things wrote about Siemens’ #IndustrialMetaverse booth at the massive Hannover Messe fair in Germany. Chancellor Olaf Scholz is shown beaming in to a Proto Epic and addressing the dignitaries as a hologram, including Indonesian President Jocko Widodo.

Paul Ridden at global tech, sustainability and futurism site, New Atlas, wrote about Gallaudet University’s use of Proto as the ideal way to communicate using American Sign Language remotely.  Quoting Dr. Laurene Simms, Gallaudet University’s first Chief Bilingual Officer, “”This is a dream come true for me personally and for the deaf community. For so long, we have been eager to utilize ASL and English bilingualism through hologram technology, which allows us to fully express ourselves in ASL, a spatial language.”

‘Hologram’ specialist Proto has demonstrated the capabilities of its Epic hologram projection unit for sign language interpretation at the Visual-Centric Teaching and Learning (VSTL) Centre Symposium at Gallaudet University. The VSTL project aims to explore the use of digital visual technologies for teaching American Sign Language (ASL), beaming GU’s president, Roberta J. Cordano, into a Proto Epic to interact with attendees virtually through ASL.

Siemens incorporated Proto in it’s massive display at Hannover Messe, which had the theme “Industrial Metaverse.” Balthasar Mayer of Invidis, the German digital display authority reported that German Chancellor Olaf Shcolz and Indonesian President Joko Widodo viewed a Proto hologram presentation and Scholz even beamed himself into the Proto Epic, greeting the dignitaries in hologram form.

Proto holographic display booths have proved superior to Zoom in capturing subtleties of body language in a trial of their use with American Sign Language at Gallaudet University in the US. Simms said holograms are better for ASL than Zoom because of the 3D nature of the language. In the same way that vocal intonations can change a message, facial expressions are important in ASL. Body language is also necessary to communicate fully; certain words build on other signs, which is easier to see in 3D. She said Gallaudet had previously tried incorporating technology with ASL into its curriculum, but ran into issues with glitches and pixelation that made it difficult to understand ASL.

The biggest podcast in the world with an estimated 12 million listeners per episode, had Howie Mandel on as a guest and discussed Proto. Howie explained how he likes it to avoid travel and how comedians are using it to beam to do shows, showing videos of both the Proto Epic and M. Rogan was skeptical at first but came around in the end calling it “very cool tech.”

CJ Olive Networks and its subsidiary Nine Communication showcased Proto’s 5G hologram technology at the ‘2023 World IT Show’ held at COEX. Han Kang-hee, Cloud Business Director at CJ Olive Networks, said, “We plan to expand the application of this 5G technology, which has the advantages of ultra-low latency, ultra-high speed, and ultra-connectivity, to various industries such as manufacturing, logistics, and media.”

The University of Central Florida’s Festival of the Arts at the Dr. Phillips Center in downtown Orlando featured Proto hologram. Justin Matthew Sargent, who played Peter Parker in Broadway’s Spiderman adaptation “Turn of the Dark” beamed in to sing  Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing” via hologram.  The festival used one of the Proto Epics owned by the UCF College of Health Professions and Sciences.

Technical.ly’s Michael Althouse broke the news about Gallaudet University, the world’s only liberal arts college for the deaf and hard of hearing, testing Proto for beaming in speakers. “Everybody was like, ‘What is happening? Is this a movie?’” Gallaudet’s Chief Bilingual Officer Laurene Simms told Technical.ly. “And they said, ‘No, I can see you guys. I can see that this guy has a blue shirt on.’”

Proto’s hologram technology has made its comedy broadcast debut on stage at Whitney Cummings presents The OnlyFans Roast of Bert Kreischer. Among the ce;ebrity line-up, Tom Segura will beam in from Austin, Texas using Proto’s advanced holoportation technology to create a site-gag, making this a first in a comedy broadcast of its kind. “Whitney was visiting our landlord Howie Mandel one day and wound up joining me while I beamed via Proto to talk to an all woman-led startup in Florida. Needless to say, Hologram Whitney upstaged me,” said David Nussbaum, Inventor and CEO of Proto Inc. “We’re so proud that that moment turned into this – her world debut comedy roast on OnlyFansTV and more proof that Proto tech can excel in the merciless zone of comic timing.”

Variety announced that Proto was a nominee for best Technical Achievement in the Metaverse, Immersive and Virtual category. It was Proto’s first Webby nomination.

Top digital signage news site Digital Signage Today broke the news that Herbalife used Proto to beam in L.A. Galaxy team stars to its biggest event of the year, debuting the new jersey design. Herbalife has been the jersey sponsor for the MLS team for fifteen years — the longest running sponsor in Soccer.

Music Biz Asia broke the news that all-time top selling Indonesian artist Rossa debuted her newest album by beaming into the launch party in Jakarta via Proto hologram, where she sang and interacted with media.The real Rossa shocked the guests with a live performance before interacting with her own hologram. V2 Indonesia, a partner of Proto in the area, organized the event.

Samson Amore of L.A.’s leading tech news site, visited Proto headquarters to meet David Nussbaum, CEO and Inventor. He also spoke with PwC’s Scott Likens, head of the company’s innovation hub and Bari Hoffman of the University of Central Florida about their use of Proto. Other featured Proto partners include FITE and H&M.  Amore quotes Howie Mandel, “This is probably the most excited I have seen people around a piece of technology,” he said of Proto. “It needs to be everywhere.”

China Global Television Network America, part of China’s largest television news organization, broadcasting globally, sent Karina Mitchell to the National Retail Federation’s big show in New York where she interviewed AI Howie Mandel via a Proto M in Deep Brain’s booth.

Tech reporter Milen Stamatov featured Proto on an extensive segment for Bulgaria’s top morning news show Before Noon, interviewing David Nussbaum about Holoportation and the startup’s recent, and fourth, CES Innovation Award.

The leading news outlet for the retail industry in the UK wrote about H&M’s experimental Williamsburg, Brooklyn space and it’s newest iteration focused on the Move athletic line. Proto is utilized in a street-facing installation showing holograms of fitness and dance instructors.

Howie Mandel and his daughter beamed from Los Angeles to Canada to interview their guests, Jay Pharaoh, the Sklar Brothers, and others for his podcast Howie Mandel Does Stuff. It was a worldwide first.

The French newspaper L’Entrepreneur wrote about Proto’s expansion into Australia with TeleIn’s push into education in the country.

Guy Campos of AV Magazine wrote about H&M using Proto at it’s experimental Williamsburg, Brooklyn space, beaming in hologram fitness and dance instructors to interact with people passing by the storefront.

Hungarian news site Blikk wrote about Proto Hologram and its use in meetings, education and retail — and also its partnership with Christie’s beaming Degas and Giacometti sculptures around the world.

Visiting Proto’s installation at the National Retail Federation’s Big Show in NYC, CBS News tried Proto holoportation and learned about the company’s collaboration with Burberry and Verizon. The segment ran on over 200 network affiliates nationwide.

The nation’s top news talk show, The Project, on Network 10, interviewed David Nussbaum about the expansion into Australia and Proto’s use in schools. The hosts also asked about new Proto investor and advisor Paris Hilton, with Nussbaum saying, “Students would be lucky to have ‘Professor Paris’ lead their classes!”

Retail Info Systems News named Verizon’s booth featuring Proto a top takeaway at the biggest show of Retail Technology of the year. “Verizon execs predict this technology could be used in video conferencing, as well as in stores for selling products.”

InAVate’s Asia and Pacific edition wrote about Proto’s expansion into Australia. The company had previously been seen at the Australian Open in 2021, but TeleIn, the robotics and education company, has acquired the first permanent Proto in the country.

The Rogers Monday Night Hockey broadcast on SportsNet featured Proto Hologram’s use at the viewing party. The activation was organized by Proto Canada.

Top tech writer David Swan broke the news in The Australian that Proto has arrived on the continent, with the first permanent units at Brisbane’s TeleIn — with the goal of helping with the urgent shortage of teachers in the country’s remote schools.

The events industry leader BizBash named Proto as one of the most interesting things they saw at CES 2023 including both the Proto Epic and Proto M.

Forbes’ David Bloom broke the news out of CES that Paris Hilton has been named an advisor to Proto Hologram as well as that she has invested in the startup. Hilton will consult on all matters Web3 and Metaverse.

The French paper singled out Proto as one of the most important developments at CES.  “Tout simplement bluffant,” the paper wrote. In English, that’s “Simply Stunning.”

Interesting Engineering’s Sade Agard wrote about Proto and holoportation — allowing people to have a much more engaging, emotional experience than Zoom or other remote meeting technology — and Proto winning its 4th CES Innovation Award.

Tech Times reported on Proto being honored at CES 2023 in the category of Digital Health. It is Proto’s fourth award at CES.

At AT&T stadium in Dallas, SeatGeek unitized Proto at its Rally Days event to beam Dallas Cowboys’ DeMarcus Ware into meet with fans live. It was the first on-field use of Proto at an NFL-related event.

InAVate, the global AV industry news site, wrote about Christie’s Ventures — the new VC arm of the auction house–investing in Proto Inc. Christie’s has used Proto throughout 2022 in London, New York, San Francisco, L.A. and Hong Kong and beamed work by artists such as Edgar Degas and Alberto Giacometti.

Ornella Hernandez of the blockchain and crypto news authority, Blockworks, wrote about Christie’s Ventures investment in Proto as part of its support of startups for displaying new forms of digital art such as NFTs. Proto has been used to display NFTs by Christie’s as well as dozens of major events across Art Basel Miami.

Hospitality Net  broke the news that hospitality legend Isadore Sharp, founder of The Four Seasons, beamed live from Palm Springs to Beverly Hills via Proto to appear at an important executive summit.

Shawn Grant of the top hip hop news site The Source, wrote about Metro Boomin’s historic live Proto hologram beam from Atlanta to Los Angeles and Miami. The Spotify-sponsored event celeberated the release of his Heroes&Villains album release.

The massive pension company AFP Crecer beamed expert speakers from Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, Spain and the U.S. to its annual innovation summit in the Dominican Republic using Proto. “Truly speaking to our theme about the future, our teams in Santo Domingo were able to converse with these great minds just as if they were in the same room with us,” Carlos Barranco, director of innovation at AFP Crecer, said in the release. “Holoportation via Proto gave us exactly what we needed — meaningful exchanges of ideas and inspiration without boundaries.”

Hip hop news authority The Hype wrote about super producer Metro Boomin beaming live via Proto from Atlanta to Miami and Los Angeles to create a beat live for fans. The Spotify event was in celebration of his new album, Heroes&Villains.

TMZ broke the news that Metro Boomin became the first producer to “cook up a beat” live via hologram in a Spotify project that beamed Metro live from Atlanta to Los Angeles and Miami.

Eric Hal Schwartz of Voicebot.AI, the leading site for the AI-powered chatbot industry, wrote about Proto’s partnership with StoryFile on a recreation of Sam Walton for the Walmart museum. The display gives visitors, and Walmart employees, the chance to learn directly from the company’s founder.

Steven Zeitchik of The Washington Post wrote about Proto’s work with Walmart and StoryFile to recreate the founder of the world’s biggest retailer, Sam Walton. Being utilized in the Walmart Museum, “Digital Sam” was produced to appear in a Proto Epic and converses with visitors via StoryFile’s AI platform. “This is as real as it gets,” said Alan Dranow, senior director of the Walmart Heritage Group.

At 11:11 media’s first summit and a star-studded take over of the Santa Monica Pier, Paris Hilton appeared in hologram form in a Proto epic — talking to guests and taking selfies with them too.

Ireland’s top talk radio show interviewed Proto CEO David Nussbaum live from L.A. about the Proto M and holopotration technology. Ray asked David about his background in broadcasting which led David to cite growing up listening to Howard Stern and to talk about how holograms are the broadcast medium of the future.

SportsTechie, part of the Sports Business Journal Group, wrote about FITE and Triller Fight Club use Proto to beam legendary boxer Manny Pacquiao from Seoul, Korea to Los Angeles, CA for press conference about upcoming match against MMA star DK Yoo. Pacquiao was able to interact with Yoo, the host and reporters in real time. The event streamed live globally on FITE, the world’s biggest sports platform. 

France’s largest newspaper reports on Proto beaming Manny Pacquiao from Seoul to Los Angeles for the DK Yoo press conference, streaming live on FITE. “Costume gris et chemise bleue, le Philippin est apparu depuis Séoul en Corée du Sud, à plus de 9.000 kilomètres de la Californie, sous la forme d’un double virtuel réalisé par l’entreprise Proto. The biggest MMA site, MMA Fighting, wrote about Proto beaming Manny Pacquiao from Korea to L.A. for his press conference with DK Yoo. The event streamed live on FITE, the sports streaming platform with a history of presnting the biggest and most important boxing, MMA and wrestling events. 

Connor McGregor’s sports and lifestyle site, The Mac Life, wrote about the historic hologram press conference that had Proto beaming Manny Pacquiao from Seoul, Korea to L.A. where his upcoming opponent DK Yoo was. Streming platform FITE presented the event worldwide.

Jad el Reda of the L.A. Times witnessed Manny Pacquiao beaming in via hologram from 6000 miles away to face off with Korean MMA star DK Yoo. It was the first time a combat sports athlete has used Proto and the first time any athlete has beamed via hologram into a press conference. The event streamed live on FITE. 

Swiss news leader Bluewin wrote about Manny Pacquiao becoming the first ever combat sports athlete to beam into a press conference via hologram — in this case across six thousand miles from Seoul to Los Angeles where his opponent the Korean MMA star DK Yoo was physically present. The event was organized by Triller Fight Club and streamed live globally on FITE. 

Kyle Knight of the Moreton Daily interviewed Proto’s Australian distributor Benjamin Farkas of Telein about the hologram company’s expansion on the continent. “The opportunities here are far-reaching. I would disagree with anyone who would suggest that this type of technology would remove jobs. I would absolutely say that this is an empowering technology,” Farkas says.

The legendary boxer will beam from Proto’s studio in Seoul to Proto headquarters in Los Angeles for a press conference on his upcoming fight with Korean MMA star DK Yoo. The two fighters will be able to interact in real time with eachother and the press. Pacquiao is the first athlete to use Proto in combat sports and the first athlete to beam into a press conference. The event is produced in partnership with Triller Fight Club and will stream live globally on FITE. 

IWC, one of the earliest adopters of Proto hologram, opens it’s touring Top Gun exhbition in San Diego this week. Previously IWC has beamed F1 superstar Lewis Hamilton, and its CEO Cristoph Grainger Herr to events — now it has added Olympic skier and model Eillen Gu to greet fans in hologram form. 

Forbes Indonesia reported on the opening of a new Proto office in partnership with tech giant V2 Indonesia in Jakarta this week. The news was reported by over 60 news outlets in the country. 

New York magazine’s Lane Brown, writing in the Vulture sectoin, explores the hologram mega tour of Abba and others, while pointing out that Proto’s units are a much more accessible and viable technology that have been used by Kane Brown and Walker Hayes to beam into performances. “I can’t say who, but we’ve been filming artists now while they’re well enough,” says David Nussbaum, the CEO of Proto. “So when they want or have to stop playing live, they’ll have holograms that have been endorsed by them and not just their estates.”

Victora Copans of XLIVE wrote about StoryFile’s new project at the Maltz Museum in Cleveland which uses AI powered conversatoinal video to let visitors talk to Civil Rights leader Rev. Otis Moss Jr. The story explains that StoryFile and Proto hologram are compatible and have worked on projects to bring their AI StoryFiles into the hologram space — such as AI Hologram Tim Draper, the famous tech invsetor. 

To promote the highest grossing film of the year in Hong Kong, One Cool Pictures became the first company to use Proto to present hologram characters from an Asian film when it beamed its Sci-Fi “Warrior” character to the film’s premiere.

Global News Morning’s Minna Rhee interviewed Proto inventor and CEO David Nussbaum and Proto advisor Howie Mandel via live hologram beam from Los Angeles to Toronto in a segment produced by Murtz Jaffer. “The future is now,” Rhee says as she did a hologram hug with Howie.

SNL great Kenan Thompson, who just hosted the Emmys, is using Proto to beam into his 35 city comedy and talent search tour. The innovative comedian is also using the Failed to Render VR platform to bring live comedy out of the metaverse in to the clubs. 

UK Telecom authority TelcomPaper broke the news that BT has added Proto to its Innovation Labs in London and Asastral Park, Ipswich.  Stuart Wyse the head of BT’s Innovation Showcase said, “It’s great to be able to show Proto to customers who visit the showcases so they can start to think about how it will enable them to communicate differently and how the underlying 5G or fibre network is essential for this and other new innovations”

Karen Webster, Editor-In-Chief of PYMNTS interviewed Proto CEO David Nussbaum about the hologram platform’s use as business travel replacement — noting its Environmental Social and Governance attributes for sustainable and ethical impact. Webster says Proto has, “the potential to disrupt not just business travel but the videoconferencing sector.”

Country Music Television covered the use of Proto at the America’s Got Talent finale to beam in familes of the finalists including country hopefuls Drake and Chapel Hart.  There was also a surprise when Country legend Tanya Tucker appeared in the Proto Epic to wish Chapel Hart good luck. “Surprise. It’s Tanya. Chapel Hart, y’all are so great and congratulations on everything you do. America’s Got Talent, write about that.”

The top UAE paper celeberated Mayyas’ win — the first Middle Eastern group to win America’s Got Talent and also loved the use of Proto to bring families together in hologram form. “This included magician Hojin’s parents from South Korea, who said, ‘We’re in Korea rooting for you,’ as well as saxophone player Avery Dixon’s brother, who said , ‘I knew you were going to make it.’ Before doing a hologram high five. 

Judy Bergeron of the New Orleans Advocate/Times Picayune wrote about Proto being used to beam in finalists familes and well wishers during the finale — pointing out local favorite Chapel Hart who got a surprise hologram beam-in from Country legend Tanya Tucker. “Chapel Hart, ya’ll are so great and congratulations on everything you do,” Hologram Tanya Tucker said. ‘America’s Got Talent’ … right about that.” 

AGT’s Season Finale used Proto to beam the families of the finalists in for special suprise hologram visits, with host Terry Crews announcing it as the “magic of Proto hologram.” Families appeared in lifelike, real-time, 4K from Korea, Nashville and more — some high fived eachother or blew kisses — all felt the emotion of a real connection across thousands of miles. The biggest surprise was when Country legened Tanya Tucker appeared to wish Chapel Hart well. Too Fab speculated on when Howie Mandel will just start beaming in to AGT in hologram form only — after all, the site points out, he’s Proto’s landlord.

For the finale of an amazing AGT season on NBC, Proto beamed the familes of finalists to the soundstage from as far away as Seoul Korea, Nashvile and more — Country legend Tanya Tucker even surprised Chapel Hart to wish them luck in the finals. It was Proto’s first prime time network entertainment TV appearance .

Mickey McClay Wilson, the CMO of giant events contractor Freeman (CES, SXSW, Comic-Con, etc) listed 5 trend takeaways for exciting live audiences and cites Proto as a way to let audiences “Play.” Mentioning Proto’s installation at SXSW, she writes, “Experiences that stimulate imagination can ignite delightful moments. So encourage playful collaboration to cultivate community.”

Taiwan’s major innovation summit featured David Nussbaum, CEO and Inventor of Proto, demonstrating holoportation travel and other Proto capabilities. 

Brody Ford and Ian King named Proto as a one of the leaders in hologram meeting innovation in a story about Cisco’s Webex system which relies on headsets and AR. (The story also mentions Mircosoft and Google solutions which have not come to market). The authors cite Ellen DeGeneres’ use of Proto on her show as an example of its success.

AdWeek’s Technology Editor Patrick Kulp broke the news that AT&T and CAA created the first public use of the new Proto M at an activation in Dallas. The M was cleverly embedded in a 1970’s shell phone booth with the AT&T logo on the side. AT&T and previously used the Proto Epic at it’s permanent space at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

Ashley France of Revolt included Proto as one of the technologies alongside AI and VR tech that is changing the landscape of the music indusrty. She cites Proto being used to debut the hologram of the avatar of Biggie Smalls at the late rapper’s 50th birthday tribute in Times Square in June.

Debra Kessler, of The Interrobang, the ultimate comedy industry insider’s news site, interviewed Andy Kindler about his historic live beam set. Kindler used the Proto Epic to beam into the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal to deliver his famous annual “State of the Industry” set. Andy connected  “directly with people in the room, roasting the front row, talking to his agent, immediately knowing if a joke bombed, and actually interacting with Bob Odenkirk who introduced him,” Kessler wrote. “That was a spectacular demonstration of the technology, with Bob actually in the ballroom in Montreal on stage, talking with Andy who is teleporting in through this fantastic box. They’re nodding to each other, pointing at each other, physically reacting, and it looks pretty great.”

For the world’s first ever live holorgam comedy set, Andy Kindler beamed from Proto’s Van Nuys studio to the Just For Laughs festival in Montreal. Introduced by Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul), Kindler could see, hear and react to the crowd in Canada in real time. He joked about Joe Rogan, Dave Chappelle, and more.  New York magazine’s Vulture released the whole set on video, editing both the L.A. “Beaming” side with the Montreal performance side. Howie Mandel sponsored this historic holoportation moment. 

The China Times reported on partnership between Proto and Taiwan’s Department of the Industrial Technology to demonstrate and promote their private 5G solution at expoFest. The Mayor of Taipei, Ko Wen-je, joined in, becoming a live Proto hologram at the expo.

The UK’s leading comedy news source broke the news that Andy Kindler beamed from Los Angeles to the Monteral Just for Laughs festival to deliver his famous “State of the Industry” comedy set. The live beaming was produced by Proto and one of its advisor/investors Howie Mandel. ‘Help me,, Help me, Odenkirk Kenobi, you’re my only hope…’ Kindler began his set. He later quipped: ‘I’m a hologram. Coachella got TuPac, and you’re getting JewPac’.

Logan Paul’s hologram was presented using Proto at the National Sports Collectibles Conference in Atlantic City where he greated fans and explained Liquid Marketplace, his fractional collectibles startup. Proto also created a giant hologram of the $5.9 M Pokémon card that is the keystone of Liquid Marketplace. Paul wore his WWE gear in hologram form, on the eve of his triumphant night at WWE’s SummerSlam. 

The Wall Street Journal’s Kelly Crow broke the news that Christie’s has launched a new venture capital arm focused on tech and crypto. The story, which ran on the front page of the business section, featured a photo of Proto’s Degas ballerina hologram, which was beamed to London, San Francisco and Hong Kong. The sculpture was subsequently sold at a record breaking price for the artist. 

The show 20h Weekend visited Proto at the Los Angeles studio and spoke to Founder & CEO David Nussbaum, who showed how holoportation let’s him beam to meetings around the world saving him massive amounts of time and money — as well as pandemic risk and carbon damage. 

The 350-year old auction house named Proto as a factor in a nearly 300% growth over pre-pandemic records. The story by Pymnts.com explains that Christie’s teamed  with hologram orginial Proto to allow potential bidders to take virtual 3D tours of art and objects around the world. That helped its social media presence in Asia grow 105% year over year to 480,000 total followers and its United States and Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) social following jump 13.4% to 1.78 million.

In a story about Carlos Santana having to cancel tour dates, the Las Vegas Review Journal’s John Katsilometes brings up a perfect solution when he talks to singer and regular Strip headliner Matt Goss about his plans to tour via Proto hologram. “This is the future!” Goss says. It’s not just speculative: the story points out that Goss has talked to Proto execs and seeks to follow Ellen DeGeneres and Howie Mandel in using the original holoportation device. Goss even proposes a hologram duet with Rat Packer Dean Martin, which prompts Katsilometes to say, “We’ll need hologram Scotch!”

Dow Jones’ Joy Wiltermuth wrote about the transformations the financial industry has been going through post-pandemic, including about new approaches to hybrid work and business travel. Joanna Wald at Schroders talked about her firm’s adoption of PROTO, a hologram technology that makes it feel like colleagues are in the same room with you, but also produces a lighter environmental footprint than constant air travel. “I was surprised on how realistic it feels,” Wald said, recalling that when Schroders CEO Peter Harrison recently used the technology for a virtual meeting in New York, a visiting client reflexively reached out to shake his hand, and then stopped himself.

Taiwan Television reported on Proto at the Golden Melody Awards, the country’s top music honors which are recognized as equivalent to the Grammys  for the Chinese language. At Kaohsiung Arena, an AR version of the iconic GMA Trophy was created and stars entering the venue posed with them in Proto hologram form. 

“Star Wars n’est plus loin,” writes the cool new French science magazine Epsiloon. The magazine spotlights the Proto M, coming at the end of 2022, which will put Proto’s original hologram technology in homes and offices worldwide. 

Screen Daily’s Jean Noh reporters that the the 26th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN) used Proto Inc.’s Epic device to beam its XR Curator, Jay Kim, to a press conference in Seoul to talk about the Beyond Reality section of the July event. Kim used Proto holoportation to appear at the meeting even though he was physically in Annecy, France at the time — he was able to fully interact with the press and other panel members in 4K. Proto, formerly known as Portl, is the creator and leading provider of the hardware and software that make holoportation a reality. BIFAN’s holoportation event was produced by Proto’s Korean distributor and partner Nine Communications. 

Nussbaum topped BizBash’s list of innovators in the Event Tech space, telling Claire Hoffman, “One of the things about Proto that people respond to is that it’s a communal experience. No one is isolated by boxy head gear,” Nussbaum notes. “I think as hybrid experiences become the norm, that’s going to be key—feeling like you’re with other people sharing the same emotional responses.” He adds, “I also think our holoportation can play a big role in making global events connected both to the metaverse and each other. Networked Protos can make eventgoers in multiple cities share the experience. It’s all about bringing more people together in ways that are exciting, memorable, and that really work.”

The HYPERMODEL hologram is created by HYPERREAL alongside Biggie Smalls’ estate. The Notorious B.I.G.’s hypermodel was first launched in The Brook, the metaverse based on Brooklyn. The life-like hologram of the legendary Bad Boy artist sees him dressed in a green, white, and black Sergio Tacchini tracksuit, shades, Kangol hat, Nike sneakers, and a necklace with a Jesus pendant. The hologram device is made by Proto Inc (formerly PORTL Hologram).

L.A.’s top tech news outlet announced that comedian and America’s Got Talent judge Howie Mandel has been named an advisor at Proto Inc. Mandel has been using Proto weekly in his L.A. studios with celebrity guests and plans to use it to beam in to comedy shows to avoide travel and pandemic risk. 

At lead electronics intergrator Wachter’s booth at INFOCOMM 2022, the rAVe Pubs team puts the Proto Epic through its paces, discussing its potential for digitaly signage, retail innovation and holoportation for business. 

TMZ broke the exclusive news that Howie Mandel joined Proto as an advisor, and showed video of him saying he was intrigued by the holoportation startup as a way to tour without triggering his germaphobia. TMZ points out that Proto is “inventor of the world’s first 4K, volumetric, self-contained holoportation machine” and that it has also beamed Walker Hayes recently.

Howie Mandel tells ET about his love of Proto hologram as a way to avoid situations that trigger his germaphobia. He shares a studio with Proto and uses it daily, calling it a way to “Think inside the box.” “I figured out a way that I can be close to people without wearing a mask…,” Mandel told Entertainment Tonight on the night of America’s Got Talent’s new season premiere. “I’m a germaphobe so I can go places without anybody breathing on me. With Proto, I can be in nine theaters at once, so I can do a show anywhere, anyplace.”

Cláudio Afonso, of EV, the news site for the electric vehicle sector, wrote about Vietnamese EV-maker VinFast using Proto hologram to tour top Canadian luxury malls to introduce itself to buyers across the country. The activations in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver were done in partnership with MOUSE 3D DIGITAL, Proto’s content and distribution partner based in Toronto. 

Howie Mandel appeared on the huge Barstool Sports show KFC Radio where hosts Kevin Clancy and John Feitleberg talked to hime about his involvement with Proto hologram. They call Howie a pioneer and trailblazer of new technology and he whips out his phone to show Proto in action. Howie points out that Christie’s uses Proto, that Ellen DeGeneres recently used it and that he is on the company’s board. He also talked about how much more advanced Proto is than its copycat competitors.

Forbes wrote about technologies changing how we work such as VR and Hololens and singled out Proto as a solution that doesn’t involve headgear, while letting people create a connection far stronger than Zoom. 

XLIVE’s Victoria Copans wrote about Media Corp’s Star Awards — one of the biggest entertainment awards shows in Asia — using Proto to beam in live presenters from Hong Kong and Taipei. The live beamed presenters were able to interact with the host, the award-winning superstar talent, and the audience — and it was all broadcast live throughout Asia. “Using Proto expanded the range of celebrities they were able to have participate — there’s no excuse not to present when you’re asked when you can just beam in!” said Proto’s Director of Operations Noah Rothstein. 

Ella Baskerville of the UK’s top attractions business news site included Proto in her roundup of the best innovations at Intergrated Systems Europe (ISE)  in Barcelona, Spain. The booth using Proto’s Epic devices used a Spiderman character to greet guests, and turned an Epic on its side to create great effects. 

Jesse T. Jackson, of the leading news site for clergy in the U.S., wrote about  how “Pastor Randy Bezet of Bayside Community Church in Bradenton, Florida, is using something straight out of Star Trek to preach to the church’s nine campuses simultaneously. Bazet said, “We’ll do whatever we can to actually reach and impact as many people as we can, and, in this case, try a new technology like this.”

Fox 13 Tampa Bay reported on a chuch group with 9 locations using Proto hologram to beam its pastor into all of them simultaneously. “This really is I think putting me in nine locations at one time or has the potential to do that and make it much more personal than if it was just a video or kind of a flat-screen,” explained Pastor Randy Bezet. The Tampa Bay company Life Display is distributing Proto with an eye on faith-based organizations. 

Technabob wrote, “If Back To The Future II taught us anything, it’s that the future will be filled with holograms. Of course, Back To The Future II was supposed to take place in 2015, and we haven’t realized even a small fraction of the technology it promised, but enough about my resentfulness; this is about the Proto Hologram “M,” a compact holographic display and media device made for home use. Curse you, Robert Zemeckis!”

Hollywood Life’s Cassandra Gill named a photo of The Voice winning group Girl Named Tom using Proto hologram one of the “Hottest Celebrity Pics of the Week.” The harmony group appeared at legendary tech investor Tim Draper’s private conference in Half Moon Bay (where Proto CEO David Nussbaum spoke), and Girl Named Tom took the opoortunity to make themesleves in to holograms and then sing along with themeslves. They are the latest country artists to use Proto hologram following Walker Hayes and Kane Brown — and they’re the first Voice winners to do so.

The Serbian news and culture site 24 Sedam wrote about Christie’s using Proto to beam Edgar Degas’ Petite Dansuese to London, San Francisco and Hong Kong as a preview for its blockbuster Anne Bass sale, where it broke the artists all-time record at over $41M. 

Gadget Flow wrote about Proto’s smaller M model which will enable people everywhere to make hologram phone calls. The device will also display content of all kinds and have applications in Education, Telehealth and Retail. The M comes to market in Q4 2022. 

People magazine included Walker Hayes’ Proto hologram beam as one of the best moments of the Live in the Vineyard Goes Country festival — pointing out that he is the first artist to beam into a Country event and that the event raised $77,000 for St. Judes Childen’s Hospital.

Country Music Television wrote about Walker Hayes — the “Fancy Like” star — beaming in the Live in the Vineyard festival in Napa to perform and talk about his book. It was the first time an artist beamed into a country music event.

Annie Reuter, the country music industry authority, wrote about Live in the Vineyard using Proto to beam country superstar Walker Hayes to its annual festival — known for surprises and innovation. “It is pretty amazing that we can basically be beamed wherever we’re supposed to be and honestly we should do this more,” Hayes, a father of six, tells me. “I don’t have to leave the kids. I could just do these from my house.”

The internet’s original gossip king brought his kids to visit Proto and get turned into holograms live on the spot. He posted a an eleven minute video of his kids enjoying the technology and wrote, “They do both pre-recorded and LIVE holograms! And, let us tell you, these things were insanely realistic! We got to try it out and it was such a trip!”

The Straits Times named the use of Proto holograms as one of the top 7 best parts of the Star Awards — one of Asia’s biggest entertainment awards shows put on by Media Corp each year in Singapore. Host Chen Hanwei interviewed the presenters who beamed in from Taipei and Hong Kong live and interacted with him and the stars in attendance. Hong Kong star Aaron Kwok, Taiwanese host Mickey Huang and Taiwanese host-actor Jacky Wu were singled out for their holoportation skills. This is the first time a major awards show has used holoporation as part of its ceremony.

Artnet, the biggest art news site, wrote about Christie’s using Proto to beam a hologram of Degas’ Petite Danseuse to San Francisco and Hong Kong. “It would be amazing for a museum to commission a performance art piece—maybe beaming live to cities all over the world,” Porto CEO David Nussbaum said. “How great would it be to see Marina Abramovic do something with Proto? Would The Artist is Present work via holoportation? Instead of beaming people, what if Cai Guo-Quiang created one of his gunpowder events live via Proto?”

The Telegraph published a story by Daniel Capurro about Christie’s using Porto to preview the $20M Degas ballerina bronze in London, San Francisco and Hong Kong ahead of the blockbuster Anne Bass auction in May. The article praises the efforts for protecting the art work and reducing carbon damage while still providing a meaningful experience of being the presence of the art work.

South Korean sports and entertainment news site Sports Khan reported that, at the World IT Show, the largest information and communication technology (ICT) exhibition in Korea, the virtual idol Eternity appeared in the PROTO HOLOGRAM presented by Nine Communications (CEO Yoo Young-jae). Eternity was able to interact with fans who were also able to become Proto holograms.

Daniel Cassady of The Art Newspaper In the UK broke the news that Chrsitie’s is touring the Degas bronze Petite Danseuse using Proto hologram devices ahead of its auction with the blockbuster Anne Bass collection in May. The tour started in London before opening to crowds in San Francisco and Hong Kong. Touring the precious object via hologram eliminates the risk of transportation and expenses and carbon damage associated with shipping. “And while it isn’t actually there,” Cassady writes, “Visitors can experience the work just as if they were in Anne Bass’s storied New York City apartment.”

Brand Marketing’s list focuses on companies with great track records, innovative offerings or huge future potential. Proto was singled out for its successful run of activations in California over the last 12 months with brands such as Disney, Netflix, IWC, AT&T, CBS Sports HQ and more.

The British multinational asset management company released a photo of executives beaming into one of the companies meetings via Proto. “Schroders has started using hologram technology from Proto to cut down on employees flying around the world as the asset manager has included climate change as one of the six themes in its engagement blueprint with companies”, according to Marina Severinovsky, head of sustainability, North America at Schroders.

Ellen Degeneres used a Proto Epic to beam in and surprise her audience before The Ellen Show. During her opening monologue she called it “The Technology of the Future.” She also posted the video segment for her 112 million Instagram followers to enjoy.

On her farewell season of The Ellen Show, Ellen talked about Proto in her opening monologue and how she wanted to introduce this “cool new tech.” She then beamed into her studio’s Riff Raff Room to interact with fans — tricking them into thinking she was appearing pre-recorded until she started engaging with them and they were shocked at the realism of the hologram and that and she could see and hear them in real time, making eye contact. The Ellen show has millions of viewers and her Instagram post of this video went out to 121 million followers.

Christian Hetrick of dot.LA the main source of tech news in Los Angeles, included Proto in a round up of L.A. companies making a significant contribution to the development of Web3 and the Metaverse. “I was not aware of the metaverse when I started this,” Proto CEO David Nussbaum said. “But the more I understand about this incredible future world that we’re gonna all be living in, it became clear to me that this was much more than just a hologram projection device: This is a window into the metaverse.”

The Japanese branch of global tech authority Gizmodo wrote about PORTL M’s capability for hologram calls, NFT display and holographic gaming, and says, “The world of science fiction is becoming a reality.”

Interesting Engineering’s Ameya Paleja previews the PORTL M, comparing it to the larger PORTL Epic the site wrote about previously. The article calls it a window into the Metaverse that is more likely to catch on than Meta’s claims, and praising it for needing no headgear or wires.

Marine Industry News wrote about Comlubia Shipmanagement’s historic beaming between its headquarters in Cyprus and its training center in Manila. The company plans to use PORTL holoportation for training sessions and other communications.

CES announced the honorees for its 2022 Innovation Awards with three going to PORTL.
