Vogue Business’ Maghan McDowell wrote about the use of avatars in fashion and beauty pointing out Proto’s use of hologram models by H&M and the RTFTK x Nike event in Tokyo featuring mo-cap suit operated holograms of digital humans designed by artist Takashi Murakami. Proto events, including early hologram “pranks” by Ellen DeGeneres and Jimmy Kimmel using Proto, have now inspired Sephora’s Nars brand with their most recent event featuring virtual ambassadors.
