FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Go to our support Center
  • What type of skills will the person manning the studio need?
The Epic and Live Beam Kit is straightforward to set up and comes with user guides and step-by-step instructions. We’ve found that end users with some production experience typically are more comfortable fine-tuning the setup.
  • What kind of camera can I use?
We recommend one of our Proto Studio Kit cameras, but most cameras capable of a 4K resolution at 30fps will work. However, like with any production, the better the camera, the better the image quality! If you are interested in our Proto Studio Kits, please reach out to info@protohologram.com or contact your Proto sales representative.
  • Do I need to use 3D images?
No 3D images needed. Proto will display any 2D images or videos and create the illusion of a 3D space. This is what we call our Holoportl effect.
  • Can I store my Epic on its side in the Roadie Case?
No, the Epic cannot be stored on its side in the Roadie case. However, the Roadie case itself is designed to be stored on its side when not in use.
  • What level of internet speed/access do I need for my Proto devices?
The recommended internet speed is 25 Mbps for both download and upload.
  • What kind of electricity/power do I need for my Epic?
The Epic has a 20 amp power supply meaning you would normally need a 20 amp T-outlet to run the device. However, we do send a 15 amp cable and adapter to be used on a regular outlet. As for voltage, the Epic will operate within the range of 100-240 Volts.
  • Am I able to run my Proto Epic 24/7?
For optimal performance when running your Epic 24/7, please restart your Epic every 2 to 3 days.
  • Do I specifically need to use WiFi or ethernet for my internet connection on my device?
The Epic and LBK support both wireless and an ethernet cable.
